Күн бұрын

My third attempt at a VFR flight between Bidford (EGBI) and Wellesbourne (EGBW) and this time I'm going to attempt a correct overhead join on to runway 36 circuit. My previous attempt was rather reckless and dangerous, it's a good job this is just a simulator.
This is on my custom Bidford Gliding & Flying Club and Wellesbourne Mountford airfield scenery which can be downloaded at:
* flightsim.to/file/8677/egbi-b...
* flightsim.to/file/1191/egbw-w...
The ground marking fix can be found at:
* flightsim.to/file/7963/yet-an...
The equipment I'm using is:
* www.chproducts.com/Flight-Sim-...
* www.chproducts.com/Pro-Pedals-...
* www.logitechg.com/en-gb/produ...

Thanks very much, I wouldn't be this far without your great advice, which I appreciate greatly! Still have things to improve on, but just need more practice

Thanks. Like the ATC. Like the map so we've got a mental map of what you are trying to do. A good clear diagram of how to do it properly - any more where that came from? Its a short trip but lots to do for a beginner! Would be good to talk through what you are doing to cope with any crosswinds. Thanks for sharing your journey.

I'm not dealing with crosswinds yet, never really flown in the wind (in the sim, never flown at all in real life) but my next video I'm going to attempt a circuit in cross winds to see how I get on. Should be "interesting"

@@FlyingTheston Watched Flying Wild Alaska where they put the wind side wheel down first otherwise the plane can get flipped over if the wind gets under the wing! You see them coming in at a 45-degree angle and then have to straighten the plane once it hits the tarmac. Amazing skills! ... but let's start gently :-D

@@FlyingTheston I am actually flying with rudder assistance selected from the settings at the moment, as I am really struggling with crosswinds in MSFS, even light ones. Apparently the effect on the aircraft on the ground in MSFS is overdone quite a lot and it is something Asobo know about and intend to look at (similar to the overdone icing effect). Although rudder assistance seems like a cheat, it only acts while the aircraft is on the ground, and the aircraft still moves around a bit even with it on. The aircraft does a lovely little weather-vane into the wind when it eventually hops up off the runway - feels great! I am actually enjoying the sim more since I turned the assistance on, as I am like a shopping trolley with a dodgy wheel without it, weaving all over the place from one side of the runway to the other, which is LESS realistic than having the assistance on I think. Control sensitivity settings do help, but aircraft response to wind on the ground is well overdone for sure. I think Asobo are looking at tyre friction as a factor in this as well.

Hi! Do you know anything about the parallax windows? Could you do a tutorial about it, if you know? I tried to do it, but I cant wrap my head around the two different UV maps..

Nice job! Enjoy just about everything you present! Question: Have you had an issue with the latest patch (1.17.5.0) (April 13, 2021) not showing your custom models in the Project Editor? Yesterday, before the update, I would work in my scenery project folder. But today after the patch update, when I went into the editor and add my scene to editor, to add a model to a scene I have been working on, none of my custom models were there....only the Asobo objects that I placed. When I moved the entire "project" into the community folder all worked as normal. Did you get that issue? So, this tells me that we now have to have our built package in the Community folder in order for it to show in the editor...which before we "couldn't" have our project in the Com folder.

you have a blimp over the top of them with magnets on, but not too strong otherwise you'd just stick to the blimp. this is why you never see pilots look up
