ABOUT
The LectroFan Classic may not have the extra features that some sound machines have, like a nightlight, internal battery, or headphone jack. However, the speaker quality is excellent, it's a strong and robust device that should last a long time, it has an auto-off timer, and it's one of the loudest white noise machines I've tested. While loud volume isn't recommended for kids, I know some adults like that option for when external noise is disrupting their sleep.
This video is very basic then - I don't talk or explain the features. I just play the sounds so you can judge for yourself whether you can listen to them for long periods of time. I personally really like the variety of deeper sounding pink and brown noise, which are more relaxing to listen to than bright white noise in my opinion.

A key feature is that this has no looping. Everything is synthesized digitally so the loop time is effectively infinite. The chip they use internally only has 16K of data, so they couldn't skimp and include short looped sounds.

That is the main difference between the LectroFan and those that use recordings, yes.

@@nosleeplessnights1 Hi, I forgot to get back to you. I've been using the classic everyday since I received it. It has been great during sleep and sometimes I also use it during the day to block out loud traffic and neighbours. I do wish there is a remote control on it though.

I'm glad to hear you like it! Very, very few of these machines have a remote control. In fact, none that I know of have a physical remote (let me know if you've seen one that does). The SNOOZ (not in the video) can be controlled by a phone App, but that's the only one I've tried myself that can be controlled remotely.

@@bennychewDev If you connect it to a smart outlet switch, you can at least turn it on and off via remote. Probably easier to just get a white noise app (MyNoise is particularly good for configurability) and play through a Bluetooth speaker, then you have full control from your smartphone.

Hi Kayed. No, it doesn't. It uses so little electricity that even if you left it running 24 hours a day, the impact on an electricity bill would be minimal compared to most household appliances.

Thank you! I actually purchased the Lectrofan based on your review. It’s my first white noise machine, so taking a bit of getting used to, but very happy with my purchase. Thanks for this video, and previous ones you have reviewing the white noise machines. They have been very helpful to me 😊

No, they don't loop.

@@Xll148 They play until you turn it off or set the timer to stop. Looping isn't necessary which is good because loops can be jarring when you hear the loop end and begin again. This machine just constantly generates noise without looping

I assume it’s low wattage? Thinking about buying one as the physical fan I use runs on up to 50 Wats and the bills are crazy as we have 3 rooms which use a fan all night

Yes, I believe it will be considerably less expensive to run.

It only uses about 0.2 watts, essentially nothing. Perhaps pair with a small fan on low if you need some air flow but lots of noise. It will run for days from a USB battery power bank, very useful if your state loses electricity for days in a row.

Yes, it's one of the loudest of this category of consumer white noise machines. On maximum volume with a white noise setting, it will drown out most, if not all, external noise.

FOR ANYONE WHO IS WONDERING WHETHER TO GET ONE OF THESE OR NOT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT IF ITS THE SAME AS MINE. IT LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME. I WAS TRYING TO FIND LECTRO ALPHA TO SEE IF THEY ARE JUST AS GOOD AS THE LECTRO FANS AS THE ALPHA ONES ARE CHEAPER. I NEED A 2ND ONE OF THESE LECTRO FANS FOR ANOTHER ROOM AS A SPARE. THE ONE I HAVE NOW IN MY BEDROOM, IVE HAD IT FOR A FEW YEARS AND ITS STILL WORKING WELL. MAY I ALSO ADD ITS VERY LOUD. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING VERY LOUD THE ELECTRO FAN IS THE ONE TO GET. YOU CAN CHOOSE TO HAVE A TIMER ON IT OR YOU CAN HAVE IT RUNNING ALL NIGHT LONG UNTIL YOU TURN IT OFF. ITS GREAT.

Thanks for adding your experience here. I agree that this is a loud white noise machine, if that's what you're looking for. It always amazes me how much heavier it is than most others I test these days, part of which is due to having a meatier speaker.

If it did, it would an amazing device! Interestingly, the company that bought out LectroFan a few years ago also makes the Sound+Sleep machines. Those tend to have more of the nature sounds. If they ever decide to combine the two styles of white noise machines, the result will be great if they get it right.

To replace random external noise that annoys them and disrupts their sleep, study or relaxation with something consistent. Not everyone likes it, but some people find it works well. Were you expecting something different when you watched the video of a white noise machine that you didn't get from it?

The fan noise blocks unwanted noises, it's very good for people with misophonia!

imagine you are in some kind of waiting room, with loud or just intemediate fan sound/noise, you just hear fan noise, the noise is loud enough to overide other conversation sounds or street sounds. if you just relax , suddenly you not realize there is noise anymore, and its so boring make you sleepy. Nah, its function 2 way: boring make u sleepy, and techically/proof scientifically block some kind of frequency in sound
