To me, the lecture Michael gives at Nashua is one of the highlights of the series. It starts off great, it's basically the first time all his jokes landed and the audience seems to be really engaged, but then it very quickly dissolves into such a beautiful mess. Office Perfection. Then Pam has to continue it and she ends up becoming Michael the lecturer. I loved how she always saw him make a fool out of himself but now she has to try and do better and realizes it's not as easy as she might have thought. I guess this is a pivotal moment for both characters, as she finally understands what is like to be in his shoes (and that ends up making her value and admire him more - culminating in her quitting to join his new company later in the season) and he is confronted with the fact that he values love way more than anything else (his career, his love of public speaking/entertaining). I mean, finally there is an audience who vibes with his style but it doesn't matter anymore. I loved your analysis (as usual) but I was surprised that moment didn't even get a mention. I always saw it as the defining moment of the episode and one of the most humanizing moments for Michael.

I get that everyone thinks Scotts Tots is cringe, but man, that scene with Andy and the customer, oh, I can't watch that. That's way too much awkwardness for me!! Good catch on the copier being locked up, never noticed that in all my many rewatches!! lol

If this is true, if Mr. Wallace was just trying to be a nice guy and show Michael some appreciation because of his decisions regarding the Holly situation, this automatically means that my already gigantic respect for David has increased. He made a decision that was fit for him to make, after all he’s CFO, he’s one of the top responsible for a whole operation, he made a professional move he thought was best. He owes no professional explanation to Michael. But he felt, anyway, that he should make he’s employee feel appreciated. And, if you think about it, that makes even more sense, because he did the EXACT SAME THING back in season 3. He personally called Michael to invite him for interview for Jan’s position, even though he had no concrete intentions beyond the invite, or was even seriously considering him. He had no expectations, but he went out of his way to value an employee and not letting him out the circle. That’s a real classy move. Not to mention all that we already know about Wallace, about saying how Michael is a really nice guy, being ridiculously patience with him, but always speaking up when was needed. Also, he respected Michael’s opinion. It’s not just an act. He’s racional, he’s intelligent enough to know Michaels limitations, but he seriously takes into account what Michael thinks about Jim being promoted and all. I don’t know, man. I think David Wallace might be my favorite The Office character. I mean, he’s definitely my number one when it comes to supporting characters.

I really hate that Michael cut off Pam. We already heard how Jim felt when Pam was with Roy, and I really wanted to hear Pam's perspective.

The Angela cleaning her cats part reminded me of The Take doing their video essay about Angela. The theme of it was "Angela is a Cat". That scene is the most literal example! Those ladies do a great job analyzing TV shows and characters.

This has zero to do with this clip but for the first time I have gone back to watch the first season, I could never bring myself too and don’t remember, I watched 1-9 probably 15 times. BUT THE PILOT JIM AND ROY’s acting is amazing the awkwardness and tense between them at Pam’s decks is the FINEST of acting... bravo 🙌🏼 men

You know, something that is never talked about enough is how these characters will probably struggle to adjust to a normal work environment. They went from Michael then Andy, with brief interludes of Will Ferrell, an office shooter, and "Hey, its Creed." We see a little bit of this when Jim first moves to the Stamford branch or Pam to the New York Office. The craziness has just become second nature.

Sick catch with the copier being locked. I've seen this idk how many times & never saw that. I mean, technically it was the writing that drove Holly away, but their relationship wasn't that far removed from all of the nonsense that went on with Jan/Michael, which was partially to blame for her being fired. It's more than reasonable that Wallace didn't want to go through that again, especially with a bit of an unpredictable character in Michael and the HR rep. And he didn't disclose it. I think this is Andy hitting rock bottom; I wish he had learned something from it. Cat people are weird. Cats can make for some funny KZfaq videos, but never, ever will I live with another cat. I think I'd rather have a snake as a pet.

I love the moment with Pam and Karen, and the moment in the diner with Michael and Pam. Other than that, I pretty much skip this episode. Oh, and I was today years old when I learned the Dwights babysitter from Dinner Party is the lady that gets blown up in Speed. Mind=blown.
