Part 2 of 3 of the Led Zeppelin reactions based on a viewers request.
================================================================================
You're watching Led Zeppelin perform 'Kashmir' live at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert at London's O2 Arena from the concert film 'Celebration Day'
Lyricks
Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face
Stars fill my dream
I'm a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
Sit with elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk in song in tongues of lilting grace
Sounds caress my ear
There are not a word I heard could I relate
Story was quite clear
Oh
Oh
Oh yeah I been flyin'
Love oh ain't no denyin', no
Oh, ooh yea, I been flyin'
Mama, mama, ain't no denyin', no denyin'
All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land
Try to find, try to find what I feel
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place, yellow desert stream
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high in June, when movin' through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
Oh
Oh
When I'm on, when I'm on my way, yeah
When I see, when I see the way, you stay-yeah
Tryin' to find, tryin' to find where I been yeah, yeah
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, when I'm down
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, well I'm down
Ooh, let me take you there

This was the finale of the two hour concert......20 million requests for tickets for 20,000 seats. Greatest demand for a single concert in history.

I'm old enough to remember trying to get tickets with a land line (dial phone) back in the 70's! Of course it was pointless; all I got were seriously tired fingers.

The song is not simple at all. The drums are in a different time signature to the rest of the band only coming together on the 12th beat . The fact that it appears simple is because they are brilliant musicians.

9:27. . . .. How many YOUNG singers could hit THAT note. . And HOLD it. . . As STRONG as that. . . For as LONG as that? Not too damn many I'm 100% sure! And the guy was almost 60 years old when this was filmed. . (AND he looked good while doing it!)

Best live band ever. I saw them live 7 times between 1969 and 1980, and did try for tickets for this one, but unfortunately wasn't successful. Not surprising though , seeing as mine was one of 20 million applications. Would have been good to have seen them one last time.

There were only 20,000 seats available and when they went on sale, all the servers crashed with over 20 million request for tickets in the first 2 hours. Also they were all in their 60's. Kashmir was first released in 1975. Singer is Robert Plant, guitar player is Jimmy Page, keyboards and bass, John Paul Jones, drummer, Jason Bottom, son of original drummer, John Bottom. When they were rehearsing they told the crew, NO AUTO TUNE OR OTHER ENHANCEMENTS, they wanted to do it just like they did in 1975. Voted best rock band of the 60's-70's & 80's. Then came back in 2007 and did this in their 60's and killed it with NO AUTO TUNE OR OTHER ENHANCEMENTS today singers use.

Don’t know how I missed this. Love Led Zeppelin. The poetry is strong in this one. Read that it was actually written about a trip (probably in more ways than one) to Morocco. It influenced Queen’s Innuendo - don’t know if you have done that yet. By the way, the lead singer is named Robert Plant.

New convert here!!! I'm just starting to get into Led Zeppelin's music myself. I knew and loved Stairway to Heaven because it gets a lot of radio play in my area and is always making the list of the 500 greatest rock songs of all time, which my local rock station always plays around Memorial Day. They call it the Memorial Day 500 and count down from 500 to the greatest rock song of all time and Stairway To Heaven is always in the top 10, but this is the first time I've heard Kashmir and you can't help but be friggin' hypnotized by Jimmy Page's guitar riffs and Robert Plant's vocals! Love this song!!!!

Anything from this concert is fabulous. Their drummer died in 1980 and the band broke up. John Bonham the drummer is still considered the best rock drummer ever. Jimmy Page one of the top 3 if not the best rock guitarists ever. John Paul Jones one of the best rock bassists ever. Robert Plant is considered one of the best if not the best rock voices. They are so very diverse in their music. You should check out some other things from this concert it gives a good sample of their musicianship. Since they broke up, they've only played together a few times. The drummer for this 2007 concert is the son of their drummer who died. There were 16,000 tickets available for this night. There were 20 million ticket requests from around the world. 27 years after the band broke up. Says it all.

Kashmir is the northernmost geographical region of the Indian (India) subcontinent. Led Zeppelin visited there, and where I believe Robert Plant wrote this Song. They toured/traveled in customized Boeing Jet. That's what he meant by "let me take you there", "you know I could" means.

You are on a slow caravan in a hashish dream .. grinding through the desert, sweltering heat, totally beat .. heading for KASHMIR .. Many of their songs are very druggy. This was an interesting reaction. I've always thought rap and Zep have a bit in common. There are really no other bands that sound like Zep .. they are impossible to imitate or recreate. Thanks man! Cheers 🍺

I don't know how I missed this reaction until now I think youtube is suppressing somehow. To answer your question this song has been sampled with a few people but most notable is Puff Daddy with Jimmy Page the guitarist of Zeppelin for a movie godzilla. Which as a huge Led Zeppelin fan I'm really piss off at Page for doing so. This is one of their epic song and Puff Daddy's cover even though they kinda changed just sucked. Led Zeppelin has been sampled from Tupac, Eminem, Beastie Boys, ect.. You should checkout Led Zeppelin When The Levee Breaks the drums are phenomenal.
