I think the Witch’s incredible resistance to grievous wounds like shotgun blasts/hails of bullets is mainly a gameplay thing. However, I believe one explanation that could somewhat explain it is her angered state releasing so much adrenaline that she won’t stop until her body is literally completely shut down.

so, it's kinda like how friendly fire damage is much lower? and the easiest way to kill her is also the easiest way to incap a teammate, point blank shotgun blast. and she doesn't attack you unless provoked, and she calms down if you back off, even if you agitate her multiple times. the witch is a survivor and the green flu takes friendly fire into consideration. the survivors are all carriers, that's why they can take gunshot wounds and literally say "stop shooting me" to each other, but non carriers are obviously not so durable in the L4D2 universe.

Since she's crying and still keeps her mind for a little bit it could be that she's crying because she remembers that she killed people. Although she only did it because they hurt/disturbed her.

Nope not that...... for me why she keeps crying its because she is suffering from rare skin deases called E.P.P so thats why she is sensitive to light and like suffering from ulcer cause she hasnt eaten ever since she got infected she is in pain.....but when she cries she is human she is still a person when she cries cause she felt the pain you can notice other infecteds cant feel pain.... But when she is startled the virus kicks in her brain but she cant control it because the virus is too strong to control for herself well....when she is disturbed whe would be unstoppable until you kill her.....and about the claws....since she got infected she hasnt cutted her claws in years and years and the virus founds its way to the ummm....the cell the grows nails so her nails arent normal its mutated

I love how the Witch and Tank promote two different play styles with the same level of fear. With the Tank, it already knows you’re there. Throw everything you got at it, stay aware of your surroundings, and don’t let up on the trigger, and don’t stop moving. With the Witch, be careful. Don’t anger her, and you’ll be fine. Remain sneaky and sneak past her.

With the witch you can theoretically CROWN her (unload all your shotgun shells to her head and she’s dead. Keep in mind it has to be an automatic shotgun, not pump)

@@holloworeo2233 Getting close to one objectively provides an advantage for the witch because she'd have to cover less distance to reach her target. From a gameplay perspective a witch might be easy to identify and deal with, but from the perspective of a random who happened upon one it's not something they'd likely walk away from alive if they don't have someone in the know nearby.

I think I remember the game booklet said the virus effects certain aspects of people. Athletics became hunters, people who smoked became smokers. I could see the virus itself effecting someone who is emotionally stressed would be more likely to become a witch. Excellent video!

Yea, Hunters before they were infected most likely had high amounts of Amino acid(which is linked to exercise) in they’re body at time of infection by the Green Flu.

Call me an idiot, but I usually try to kill Witches whenever I encounter one. Usually because: A) the crying and background music creeps me out. B) I end up feeling sorry for them but a shotgun shell to the back of the head seems to be the only mercy anyone can give them. (That whole partial self awareness theory is a big part of that)

The virus seems to increase certain aspect of a persons anatomy or mental state. I feel like she suffered from some sort of mental issues. Like depression, or anxiety. Also suffering from perhaps a form or eating disorders which is hinted by her frail looking body. As her former infected self may have suffered from extreme emotional stress or something among that nature. May explain her constant state of sadness. Like the crying and weeping. One such witch could be the one encountered in the passing. Who was a bride to be.

Depression isn't a joke, the mindset that you can just "get up and do something" to avoid it, is a mindset of those who are the only accepted socially ill in society. Thinking that depression is a thing simple to conquer is a mental disorder in itself. It's called self-delusion or denial at the very least and sociopathy at the most. You sir, are mentally ill and most likely catered to very deeply by society around you in an unhealthy way. High and might piece of shit. Zombies in Left 4 Dead aren’t dead, they are infected by a Rabies like infection(best example is the 28 Days later films) though they are dying and rotting, infected individuals(if you read the sacrifices comics) see uninflected as demonic monsters, these creatures will most likely die off because of a lack of the 3 necessities of life (as Wow Such Gaming states) are Food, Water, and sleep, which none of the infected do.

The reason she may move in the day and not in the night may be down the a thing called kinesis, basically if an organism isn't exposed to a desired stimuli (in this case darkness) then they will move more to hopefully escape that stimuli and when they find the stimuli (Darkness/ night time) then the organism moves less.

witches are why it's always good to have someone carrying explosive rounds, since they stagger special infected you can basically stun lock the witch and just clip dump without worrying. that or repeated headshots with the anti-material rifle.

I remember back in left for dead 2 people were wondering why the witch wasn't playable it always seemed pretty simple to me they sit in a room until they get a light shined on them and the developers probably realized a lot of people would rather be on the move than sitting in a dark room doing nothing except crying the reason I came up with for the witch not being playable.

I like to think that the Witch is still intact mentally, the person before the infection was suffering from depression or some form of loss, like the bride. They sit there crying because that's the last thing they felt before they turned or they know what they've become and can't stand it mentally, when you approach them they don't immediately lunge at you to kill you and from what I remember they also killed any zombie that attacked it in multiplayer. This makes me think that the Witch has some form of intelligence still in her head, that the only reason she does attack you is that she perceives you as a threat and not as food or her primal instincts take over and once you're dead she looks down at you, realizes she's killed a person and bolts away crying.

Compared to the normal witch the bride witch has unusual behaviour in the passing I remember one time she would not stop attacking me as the tank and killed me ( realism vs) and her red rage metre went down and she went back into her passive crying state and i was so confused also she attacks more than one person too I seen (I uploaded a video )

As you know, CEDA and the Military are trying to make a cure, but the Green Flu just keeps randomly mutation, the Green Flu can one day be air borne, another day it isn’t, making it nearly impossible to work on it in a lab for scientists trying to make a cure to even start progress on making it. The best thing scientists can do to attempt to Make a cure is to get carriers of the Green Flu (for example, the characters we play as in game)

@@sabertheodst well, I had a theory that you'd take a viral sample from a specific group of infected, work on whatever strains exist in said group (including a witch or two for good measure) and create a border on the area the infected came from, then administer a cure effort by zone, instead of an outright cure
