I remember watching this in youth group when I was in highschool. I took it 100% seriously. For awhile, Kirk Cameron and Ray comfort were my heros. Looking back on them several years later was shocking because it's almost unbelievable to me that I could take anything they say seriously.

I love how Kirk Cameron movies are more sane when set in the Apocalypse than during Christmas. And how is the one with Nick Cage worse?

I worked at Waldens when the books were getting their biggest push in the media. We'd have people come in and order multiple copies around Christmas to give to their families. I'm sure they were all thrilled to unwrap those presents...

God I remember being forced to watch this movie with my family. It was passed around our church like some kind of sacred text. Between this and the constant sermons about the end times i was constantly anxious about the end times and being left behind. My first panic attack happened because I couldn’t find my parents and was sure the rapture had happened. Thanks Kurt. You and my fundamentalist upbringing were a significant factor in my current battle with extreme anxiety.
