He's actually plane-shifting. Time runs differently when plane-shifted which is why it isn't instantaneous. He still actually needs to physically move through another plane. Even Raziel couldn't just go through walls and huge boulders.

@@hugarada7156 Hm. I get your point. But beyond BO1 / LoK:D storywise there is no doubt he is an anti-villain. He is not in BO1 till the end and he is not in SR2 or LoK:D. He clearly is in BO2.

@@ranzigerkaefer I mean he only did what he did, not to restore nosgoth but cause he wanted to turn back to human. Accepting his powers to perserve his own life. I'm aware at the end of the day this was the right decision but Kain's intentions at the time were self serving. Killing anyone who gets in his way and at the end of the day you doom the whole world. An anti-villain behaves like a hero while having the goals of a villain e.g. Darth Vader and Schneizel El Brittania. Kain was always selfish, he didn't behave like a hero in any moment in both BO1 and BO2, and all his action and points were mildly questionable to say the least. Not trying to start a debate but it's crucial that you understand what a hero, villain, anti-hero and anti-villain are.

@@hugarada7156 It's also important to mention that younger Kain doesn't behave like a hero because he was corrupted since his birth and all his actions were always preordained. His intentions were self-serving by design, not necessarily because he chose to be that way. Kain wasn't capable of being a heroic character then since he literally wasn't wired that way. It's not until he takes his fate in his own hands and discovers the secrets surrounding the corruption of the pillars that he starts having more noble intentions.

@@Damien_Bathory Moebius was mentioning the fact that Kain was killed by Raziel with the Soul Reaver at William's chapel, but there was a paradox that avoided that outcome and on a sense Kain does dies at the hands of Raziel.

@@malchalati I don't care if an alien donkey wrote it, that isn't what this is about. It's very simple: Don't hijack the franchise. Don't race or gender swap anyone, don't change anyone's sexuality, don't shoe-horn in our modern politics, don't add diversity that isn't in the lore. It's fucking NOSGOSTH, NOT EARTH. There is infinite room within the creative space for fresh IPs. Hijacking existing one's is lazy and a betrayal of the fans who supported it in the past.

For Blood Omen 2 and Defiance, outside help was recruited to make the dialogue more dramatic. I prefer the dialogue writing of the other games myself, but it would be a stretch to call Defiance dialogue terrible. It still has some of the greatest exchanges of the series. E.g. Consider this from Raziel's introduction: "Enough of your sermonizing! Why must this game go on? We both know what you are. You're no better than the Vampires you so despise. A voracious parasite, cloaking its appetite in a shroud of righteousness. I refuse to do your will." "I can see into your heart, Raziel. It is not your will, but cowardice that keeps you here." Despite a few misfires, Defiance can hit really hard.

@@chuckingreaper8654 It's weaker in defiance, not bad... but weaker. I took the exchanges I liked into a playlist, and Defiance only has Kain's intro and Tureul. Meanwhile, Soul Reaver 2 its practically the whole game.
