Oh I hear that now. And this is random but the 10th anniversary eponine/25th anniversary fantine was the singing voice of Jasmine and Mulan

To each their own, but this Eponine makes it even harder to sympathize with a character whose only motivation is escaping the friend zone.
@milinha6656 жыл бұрын
Ogawa47 she sacrificed herself for a revolution she didn’t care about and for a guy who never paid attention to her. And she did it without hesitation. If you ask me, she’s strong as hell.

@@milinha665 well, Actually she led marius to the barricade with a mentality of "if i can't have him no one else will", and then she felt guilty about that so she took a bullet for him...

I hated Eponine's voice in this. Eponine was best portrayed through Lea Salonga and Samantha Barks.

French Version: COSETTE: How strange is this feeling. Which excites me in spite of myself. You’re crazy! People do not fall in love so fast. What is happening to you, Cosette? Is your solitude playing tricks on you? And do you see visions that remind you of love? In my life, I do not lack anything, yet I feel something is missing, but what? Suddenly, I am no longer that girl who dreamed of the doll in the window, And I expect everything from a prince I know nothing about, And I dream of discovering the world by taking his hand, Does he know I exist? Did he notice me? Or is this simply a dream from which I have yet to awaken? In my life, I no longer feel alone, I now have a secret, And I pray for him to enter my life. (Enter Jean Valjean, in his early sixties) VALJEAN: My Cosette, You dream of another world, Where your wandering thoughts lead you, You often dream of adventure, Like a caged songbird, Are you not satisfied, my daughter, With having your old father for company? COSETTE: I know nothing of myself, Of the child I was, I ask you sometimes, But you never speak. I know nothing of you, So little of your life, My father, do you not trust your daughter? The secrets in your heart, So dark they frighten me. In my life, I want for nothing, You are good, you are tender, you love me. But papa, dear papa, In your eyes I am still the child who is lost in the woods. VALJEAN: Not another word about it, The past is dead. But its echoes scream as loudly and hurt as much today. COSETTE: In my life, I am no longer a child, And I expect happiness too. Happiness in my life. VALJEAN: Happiness is a gift from God, my child, And it comes in one’s good time. In one’s good time. (Exit. Cosette comes to a window, outside which Marius and Eponine are seen coming towards the house) MARIUS: In my life, I have seen the model God took When He made the angels above. There she is, before me, my princess, In the garden holding a rose in her hand, It’s unreal! Eponine, you are the fairy who brought us together, And I pray, that happiness like mine comes into your life, The good Lord is sometimes like a great magician! EPONINE: Every joy in his heart puts an arrow in mine. In my life, There is no one but him in the world for me. If he asked, I would be his. BOTH: In my life, There is someone who counts in my life. MARIUS: There, at last! EPONINE: There, in vain. MARIUS: A heart full of joy A heart full of chimeras, I am afraid to anger her, O God! For shame, I do not even know your name, Dear mademoiselle. I am mad, But she is fair! COSETTE: A heart full of joy. Tell me who you are. MARIUS: My name is Marius Pontmercy. COSETTE: And I’m Cosette. MARIUS: Cosette, I do not know what to say. COSETTE: Say nothing, then. MARIUS: My heart trembles. COSETTE: As does mine. MARIUS: A heart in ecstasy. BOTH: In the span of one night! MARIUS: O flower in the garden of paradise! Cosette! Cosette! COSETTE: Are you the prince I waited for? MARIUS: Is this a dream? COSETTE: No, I am real. MARIUS: A heart full of joy! EPONINE: No, these words are not for me. MARIUS & COSETTE: A heart full of you! EPONINE: I have nothing to regret. MARIUS: I knew it was at first sight! COSETTE: For the first time! EPONINE: He would never say these words. Not to me. MARIUS: I was hoping. EPONINE: Not to me, not for me. COSETTE: I was waiting. MARIUS & COSETTE: And it is sweeter than a dream. Not a dream, You and I. EPONINE: His heart full of joy Would not beat, Not for me.

@lm-bv1rg8 жыл бұрын
1.Neither the movie, nor the Broadway Production was the Original. The original was the Original West End Production from 1985. 2. This is the Original Broadway Production. You maybe mistook it with the 10th anniversary because Valjean (Colm Wilkinson), Cosette (Judy Kuhn) and Marius (Michael Ball) are the same singers in the 10th anniversary and in the Original Broadway Production (this one). Only Eponine is sang by two different singers: This is Frances Ruffelle, while Eponine at the 10th anniversary is played by Lea Salonga.

I agree Anne Hathaway was not that good of a Fantine. Her voice and her attitude wasnt strong in enough for the character of Fantine.
@marianthianakaraki84095 жыл бұрын
Fantine does not even appear in this song,why did you just came here to criticize Anne's performance? Also,it is mentioned a lot of times that this actress isn't the best singer in the world but her acting was wonderful!
