Well, to be fair most of these kids are 8-12, most of them already know about a lot of that stuff that parents are under the illusion that they’re “protecting” them from, I mean isn’t it just ironic that so many middle schoolers aren’t allowed to watch R rated movies, considering that you can’t walk anywhere there without hearing at least 5 swear words

To add onto the Mario 64 camera thing, I have a feeling the person who left that comment wasn’t old enough to have played it on release. But when that game came out must of us were so enamored by the 3D world that the camera wasn’t that bad of an issue. Adding on that we didn’t have a concept of a good 3D game camera yet.

I’d argue it was a great camera. Nintendo didn’t have another (good) 3D platform to copy from, they had to figure out how to make it on their own. Introducing the camera as a character that you move with buttons was genius! It worked as well as it could have, it’s unreasonable to believe Nintendo could have done better with it.

I’ve had 2 friends that are bi-polar and are more-or-less just like Kanye. Will be happy and normal one day and then another day will make outlandish statements and try to bring attention to themselves and their weirdness. It’s very hard to deal with, and I’m only a friend/former friend of these people. They’ve embarrassed me, lashed out on me, said/done the most ridiculous things to me or to others and it’s unfortunately ruined my friendship with both of them. Keep in mind, they have many great traits, but they are very hard to deal with and more anxiety inducing than I can handle in my life.

The worst is that plenty of people blame it on those minors, when at that age it's completely normal trying to act like a grown up to "impress" actual grown ups. The thing is that in this case, parents don't seem to care too much, when they are first ones that should prevent those things.

Though Lennon is my favourite as well, I have to say that McCartney is the better musician. Great vocal range (many fantastic ballads yet so many edgy contributions across tracks like Oh, Darling and Helter Skelter, along with his earlier Little Richard-influenced performances), an incredibly inventive bassist (psych-era Beatles he would record his basslines later so he pick out the perfect counter melody), while his keyboards (Lady Madonna and Martha, My Dear) and guitarwork (finger picking in Blackbird, solos in Taxman among other tracks) were also very strong. Plus he was also a solid drummer, drumming on a few Beatles tracks plus the entire Band on the Run album after the Wings drummer left just before recording began!

Feel like Mario 64 is becoming The Beatles of video games where tons of young people want to upset older people by calling it mediocre. Not saying there is anything wrong with disliking The Beatles or Mario 64, but it feels like many young people just shit on them to be contrarian and rarely have any well-thought out points that are interesting and help other people understand their point of view.

I doubt zoomer are going out of there way to shit on things older people like. They've grown up in a time where 3d platformers have higher standards of quality that Mario 64 fails to live up to, the awful camera controls, no 60 fps, smaller world, etc. We don't mind these things because we grow up in a time when they were the norn.

I think the worst thing about TikTok is the attention span aspect, it's purely designed for you to just binge and digest video after video after video, most of which are seconds long, you just keep going. And it really does get into kids heads, all 3 of my younger siblings (4 year old sister included) sometimes just sit there staring at it for hours on end. Of course most of this goes for most social media, but TikTok especially strikes me as particularly adhd-inducing.

There are so many misconceptions about bipolar that seem to fall on two sides. People seem to either think that you're "being bipolar" and thats when it affects you, or that because you're bipolar anything questionable you do is related to it. In reality being bipolar is something that is constantly affecting your brain on a daily basis, but it also isn't controlling your actions and it doesn't define who you are and/or justify all your actions and often isn't necessarily directly related to them.

McCartney is probably the more versatile musician, some of his songs he played every part on. But while he wrote some all time classics, a lot of his solo work I've heard can be kinda aimless. It can hit a nice sound or have a good hook but feels more like a underdeveloped scrap. A lot of his solo albums to me are a handful of alltime classics with tons of nice sounding filler. Lennon/McCartney were def stronger together than apart.

@@YusefIsAGod I like the projects where tracks are complied from all 4 for a new 'Beatles' album. I guess what made the actual Beatles albums so good was how it gave you the best of all 4, where the solos end up as 'a couple of good songs, and nice sounding filler'

Instrumentally speaking, Paul McCartney is vastly superior to Lennon. Man played some nasty guitar solos, very pleasing basslines, good piano, and had so many amazing and iconic melodies (the Mellotron from SFF, the Lowrey organ from Lucy, the solo from Taxman, the cacophony of strings from A Day in the Life and so on) that from this perspective, it puts Lennon to shame.

4:18 His complaint about the SG not having an accessible neck makes no sense. Look at where the neck meets the body. I think McCartney is far superior to Lennon, particularly. He was more of a visionary with Sgt Pepper and the direction that he wanted to take The Beatles (pushing the idea of video clips, making hyper produced albums and taking care of the band's marketing for a while), unfortunately the rest of the group wasn't on board and ended up resenting him - I think Paul wasn't a people's person. McCartney did the Christmastime song, but Lennon also did a lot of shit with experimental music and I've always felt that John envied Paul. McCartney composed Hey Jude, It's a Long and Winding Road, Let it Be and Yesterday. If he only made one of those songs, he would already be greater than John - though I get this is very opinion-based, of course. As a musician, I think Paul is really underrated as a bass player and pianist, while to be true the best one with an instrument was George Harrison. Paul also tended to go for other instruments very often - he was (supposedly) better playing the drums than Ringo though it is hard to know what is real and what is folclore with The Beatles.

@zero-pl3tt
@zero-pl3tt 3 жыл бұрын
I agree with what you said about Sgt Pepper and Paul wanting to be more experimental first, but the other Beatles didn't resent him for that, they started resenting him after Brian Epstein died and he started taking more of a leading role than previously, like you said pushing for video clips and being the one who decided when it was time to record an album. This lead to the others feeling like they were being bossed around which, together with business tensions , their girlfriends, and John being a mess during the last few years, led to them dissolving, in my opinion at least. About Lennon being jealous of Paul, yeah, i think he himself said it in interviews through the years, although i don't think that the whole reason he got into experimental music was because he was envious of McCartney, but it was certainly a factor. On the subject of who's the better songwriter, it really is completely subjective, i think both of them plus harrison have written several songs which i think will still be heard for centuries (Imagine, All You Need Is Love, In My Life, Hey Jude, Let It Be, Yesterday, Something, Here Comes The Sun), my opinion is that Paul could write these classic songs more easily and in larger quantity than John, but when John wrote one it was always as good or better than whatever Paul wrote and for me at least, i just prefer the songs he wrote. As musicians, i agree that George was the best individually and that he is a bit underrated as a guitar player, McCartney was more versatile as he could play more instruments than any one else in the group.
