Drew, Raul is a liar! He is lying about his schooling. I’m so sorry you were duped. There’s just to many things that don’t line up with what he’s said, and the reality of how applying/getting accepted to dentistry works: 1. Not a single dentistry student calls themselves a med student. Because that would be lying. 2. With his age being 19, even if he has a super late birthday, it’s essentially impossible for him to have completed the mandatory pre-requisites to even apply to dentistry. Most American dentistry colleges require a full bachelor level degree, but a couple will accept students with 2-3 years of completed mandatory undergraduate level course work. Lets giving him the benefit of the doubt and say he’s got a December birthday and applied to a school that accepts students after a minimum of 2 years of undergrad courses. He would be 19 at the end of his courses in the spring. Applications open in June of the year he finishes his studies. The earliest he could hear back about acceptance would be December of that year, to be accepted into the class that starts next year - aka when he is 20. TLDR: you can’t be younger than 20 to be a dentistry student in the US. 3. He could be a super smart student who graduated HS early. But then why does he have absolutely no online record of his studies? Searching his name, adding in dentistry, college, etc you get nothing. Colleges love the press they get for cool new students with unique stories - they would undoubtedly share a story about how they have the youngest dental student / child prodigy in the country. 4. His Insta bio has no info about being a dentistry or medical student, or where he studies. Can confirm based on lived experience this is super not the norm. And is especially weird since he claimed that was a huge part of his online platform and passion. I know another commenter already mentioned said he’s at most in a college program like pre-med studies. But then just say that??? It’s so so weird to me to be on this television show and for him to be claiming he’s already a medical student- or, a dentistry student, like he’s already been offered admission. Because wanting to be a student in one of those programs is not the same as being a student in the program. Worst part about all this though is that all health care students and providers who see Raul saying these false statements KNOW he is lying. Dude just got caught lying to everyone he’s hoping to be peers with one day. Not a great look when you want to work in a profession where your honesty and integrity is pretty important.
