Legion in Mortal Kombat sounds incredibly rad. "Brings us more bodies to cuts to ribbons! Moreses! MORESES! MORESESSSS!"

I would really love to see you both playing Triangle Strategy, yeah. And regarding Unicorn Overlord as well as 13 Sentinels both games are really really good. Unicorn Overlord is the closest game we got recently that feels like a fresh take on the Classic Fire Emblem formula. It really uses a lot of tropes from Mystery of the Emblem but in a really fresh and interesting way. Not to mention its open nature as a strategy game, really one of the best tactical of the current generation. 13 Sentinels is, in my humble opinion, one of the best Scifi story ever told. It does have some flaws and I’m pretty sure Jon can figure out the plot before if unfolds, but it’s still very very well done. Soundtrack rocks too. 🙌

About Soul Calibur: Lizardman uses axe & shield, but maybe Edelgard could use a bigger axe while stilll using a shield so she would be the in-between of Lizardman and Astaroth.

I played an interesting demo on Steam today. Times&Galaxy. Bit visual novel esk. You play as a reporter robot (and technically intern) for a space newspaper. You have to investigate the location you're sent to, interview people, and piece together a story to try and appeal to readers. The two stories in the demo are ... Interesting. A ship crash involving an experimental AI and a police chase, and an alien cat show where Best In Show is won ... by a golden retriever.

If Nintendo VS Capcom was a thing, I could definitely see Lyn and Strider being rivals... or Lyn VS Vergil? In fact, I thought of some ideas for that game, but how many characters should there be on each side?

Two ideas I had for new units: A sword focused flying unit, to make a sort of aerial weapon triangle. Didn't really think about what the mount would be, just thought we needed to round it out. But then again, they already have such a hard time with coming up with aerial units that pegasus knights rarely get to keep their pegasi. The other idea was an armoured wyvern rider. They have too much armour to fly, so they function more like cavalry, but they aren't weak to horseslayers, just hammers and wyrmslayers. So a sort of Dragon Great Knight. PS: Also, new Laguz type units would be fun. What about a Bat Laguz? Give them a Victorian outfit, just to play up the vampire motif.

So if you havent bought Unicorn Overlord, the demo gives you 7 hours to play of the full game and your save can transfer. As for 13 sentinels, all I'll say is it's a damn good visual novel that goes into tower defense. It's one of those games you dont want the story spoiled for you. As Woolie VS puts it, they shouldve had a trailer of people reacting to the twists without showing anything.

Never really gotten to comment on your videos but have been lurking and watching them for quite a while; have loved your work. An idea I've had for a class is more for GBA Fire Emblem games, but could be also used in modern games as its framework already exists; the Destructor. It would be a Dark Magic and Axe user that would have growths similar but weaker to a Hero, heavily favoring Skill and bulk and being decent in Speed but lacking in Strenghth/Magic and relying on the natural might of their chosen weapons for damage. They would be seen as terrifying war mages whose dark spells and mighty axes strike fear into their enemies. If they were in later FE games, they would be more specializes and narrowed Oni Chieftan, favoring skills like Hex and Anathema that hinder enemies around them and add to their destructive potential. Not all that original, but it's been rattling around in my head for a while and felt like mentioning it. Keep up the wonderful work!

My thought for a Fire Emblem character in Mortal Kombat was Ashnard, his fatality would have him impale his opponent with Gurgurant and feeding him/her to Rajaion. As for Soul Calibur, I thought of an older Ross who still fights with an axe but would be one of the speedier characters.

My suggestion for Mortal Kombat guest would be someone like Ashnard from Path of Radiance because he’s a savage beast or Keaton from Fates because he’s a Werewolf (basically) and can transform mid fight for a brief moment

The addition of fist weapons basically was "Okay, here's Ninjas, but they're actually balanced to fit in with the rest of the game now", as opposed to what Fates had. Think about it. They have guaranteed brave weapons, decent speed, and can outrun mages, but garbage attack power and rather frail. This gives them an advantage to the fragile mages, able to kill them before they can even act, but if the target has some decent defences, then it's a gamble to use them.

Adding another thing to your list of "Games kind of like Fire Emblem", there's also Symphony of War on Steam.

I did get Unicorn Overlord, and I played for a bit, but they managed to lose me around the fifth chapter, because of a "I don't like being put through emotional turmoil over this moral choice" thing. The gameplay was really cool. The art style was quite nice. But I don't like how stressed out I got from that choice, because it felt like no matter what, it was a bad situation for me.

Would have went with noire tharjas daughter given how crazy she can be or even valter, but yeah a few you mentioned would work or even zethiel sorry if I misspelled them but a lot of crazy or gone mad characters

If i could throw my own 2 cents on how to do a good Chosen One story, it's to show how... *Not good* being the Chosen One is. Think about it: You're chosen to become this ultimate hero & savior of the world & you have to fight this great hero... You don't get a say in this, you have to do it & if you fail, everyone dies... Do you have any idea how much pressure that can give to someone? Imagine living your life normally until all of the sudden, someone shows up to your doorstep & tells you about your supposed destiny to save the world from a great calamity?... That might sound cool at first, until you eventually come to the realization that most of the bad things that happen to you are because of the fact that you're the Chosen One One good example of that is Naruto from... Well, Naruto... As powerful as he become, there's 2 factors a lot of people forget about his situation. 1: The Ninetails gave him a lot of Chakra... *Too much* Chakra, in fact. The poor kid could barely use his power... & the second point: The Ninetails *literally* ruined Naruto's life His parents are dead, he was raised as an orphan, he was shunned away by most of the people of his village simply because of the fact that he's the Vessel of the Ninetails, which was out of his control... & What was that last thing? Oh yeah, have a group of Ninja Terrorists trying to hunt him down & get him to awaken Satan, which led to the Akatsuki killing a lot of people, one of which being Jiraiya. For most of his life before adulthood, Naruto's life really sucked all because of the Ninetails, of being the *"Chosen one"...* Which is kinda ruined by the final arc when it's revealed that he's the reincarnation of one of the 2 Ninja Gods... Yeah, i didn't like that bit personally. Point is, ya want to do a great Chosen One story: Have the Chosen One's life *suck* because of the fact that they're the Chosen One.
