The best driod in all of Star Wars is stil HK-47. His commentary and how he can bounce off the other party members is still to this day one of the funniest things.

Golly… It was eerie having my own comment read back out. Granted, I needed to rewind since Comic’s pronunciation of my name was (understandably) hard to catch, but the recognition of what I read was surprising yet validating; those were thoughts I’ve been sitting on for a good while, regarding story branching. I’m genuinely chuffed, yet also honoured that I contributed to the discussion here. And if TO or TriStrat ever get playthroughs here, you can bet I’ll be there ASAP!

Ian Flynn is the head writer of the Sonic comics and he wrote the story for Sonic Frontiers. And everyone agreed that the story of Sonic Frontiers was it's best part, I.E. it addressed Tails inconsistent character and even made Amy Rose reflect on doing something else than chase Sonic on his adventures. But the best part was making Eggman a dad, which was something everyone was dreading, but somehow it worked.

He also wrote Sonic Frontiers, which was the first Sonic Game that didn't feel allienating in over 10 years

Never commented on that last list of things people want returning but i always liked the shift classes. Nice to hear someone talking about Sonic IDW. A chunk of the fanbase is in a tizzy over Lanolin atm. Freaking love Surge and Kit our local damaged gremlins. Also still cant get over how Whisper's whole background is a Foxhound from Metal Gear Solid reference wuth her as Sniper Wolf and Mimic as Decoy Octopus.

I finally got my hands on a game in the fire Emblem series last year. Granted, it was Engage (you can thank Timerra & her VA), but this channel really has me itching for a remake of the Radiance/Telius saga. I have a strong suspension that those games with modern bells & whistles will quickly set my standard for what Fire Emblem should be.

On a similar note with Shadow the Hedgehog's branching story paths, a game that suffered similar issues with the narrative was Star Fox Command. While most of the characterization from that game, as I found out later on, was a result of absolutely atrocious localization, you end up missing some details depending on which route you go, and the endings can vary WILDLY on what they contain. Though, at least with Shadow the Hedgehog, it at least allows you to choose which route you want to go through first and completing all ten routes grants you the reward of the final true ending. SF Command, however, forces you on a single route on your first playthrough, one that was intentionally made to be a bad ending to encourage players to replay the game for a "better" ending.

I wouldn’t call the Agarthans an issue exclusive to the Edelgard route. If anything, the most egregious example is how they were handled in Azure Moon, to the point where the Hapi/Dimitri ending in the DLC seems to exist solely to address what happened to the Agarthans. But specifically for Crimson Flower: I guess the issue is how you would make a gameplay conclusion to the Agarthans. The closest to an explanation to what the plan is with them is from Hubert’s paralogue, where he says the Agarthans will be quietly extinguished to the last. Smart plan, but can’t exactly make a satisfying gameplay map out of it.

Man, hearing you guys talk about split stories makes me sort of question how well Comic would really get into 13th Sentinel or basically any other Vanillaware title, because those devs LOVE to do that shit.

I think Three Houses pushed beyond what would have been a fair amount of routes. I still haven't finished Claude's route, because after Silver Snow, it is legit the same route level for level, except for the final boss. And I don't care enough to fight them myself.

In regards to ShTH 2005, while i definitely respect the ambition, the story should've had one singular storyline. Because of the branching paths, the story & character writing are playing a huge game of hot potato & not a fun one. & That’s before discussing how much they butchered Shadow's character in this game. The REAL reason why the *"Shadow is an Edgelord"* misconception is a thing? THIS game is the one that started it, cause Shadow was nothing like he is in 05 in either SA2 or Heroes

Say what you want about Sonic 06 but at least there Shadow’s character was back on track. Unfortunately Shadow is still being portrayed as either Hedgehog Vegeta or an Edgelord I really hope that the movie does Shadow justice and restores his character in the eyes of the public.

@Hilversumborn Exactly. The fact that 06 was the last core game where we had a genuinely GOOD Shadow says something Also, the Vegeta comparisons don't even work since unlike Vegeta, Shadow has 0 reason to be a dick 24/7
