Too bad a big pond had to go, but totally understandable after seeing that crappy overflow job someone else put in that you showed us when you first arrived at the job in the beginning. Surprised the dam wasn't breached already with the way it was washed out and undermining the dam. Anyway, turned out great. Still admire how tidy your job sites look when you are done Chris.
@shitloveaduck2 жыл бұрын
That was a pretty sizeable pond if the dam failed!!! The end product is just a giant scar for now, but it will all blend in well enough in a few years. If the state does develop it properly as a wetlands, there will be ducks, geese, other song and game birds all the time. Turtles, snakes, salamanders and the like. Coyote, fox, bobcats to hunt them. Even deer will use the area. Only time will tell now as to how nice it could become. There will be definitely more water than currently, just no deep areas. The work that had to be done is clean and well prepared for the next phase. Well done Chris & John!i

Good job Chris. Once it gets well established it'll be a great stopover wetland for migratory birds. With the ongoing loss of areas like this to development it's critical to come up with alternatives for wildlife. I just hope the state doesn't screw it up.
@michaelofsc41432 жыл бұрын
We lost most of our migratory stop overs, when ethanal was introduced, all the barely tillable land was put back into use as crop land. In some places the migratory bird population dropped by 70% because of that.
