Good reaction as usual :) My fave parts of this ep are 1) Judge Kitty Kitty Meow Meow Face-Shwartstein (voiced by Jon Stewart) saying, "Us cats are famously curious, meow meow", & 2) Dipper showing how fact is ultimately better than fiction for everyone (which I always think back to whenever I see someone complain that "science ruined" dinos). 2 more things of note: -2:40: I'd love to see you guys react to Hazbin Hotel. I recommend also reacting to Camp Cretaceous (another animated show w/lots of action, mystery, & representation). -19:00: To be fair, you were rubbing his belly. Cats generally don't like that.

There was actually a deleted scene that had Dipper snapping Dippy Fresh's neck after fight breaks out between them. One of the many concepts that Disney deemed "too adult" for a show with episodes like "Into the Bunker" and "Northwest Mansion Mystery."

Have you seen the How to Train Your Dragon cartoon series? It takes place between the time of the first and second movies and I have always thought the reactions would be better for the second movie if the reactors watched the series before it.

I love how Xyler and Craz managed to escape from Mabel's fantasy bubble, immediately experience existential dread about the prospect of existing in reality, then go back to their comedic radical 90's bro personas. The cryptogram even mentions that they later went on run the legal department of a children's television network. Gotta give props to Mabel's imagination for being so strong it allowed these two dream boys to continue existing even without the power of Bill's reality bubble.

This episode forces both of the twins to confront their views of growing up and how each is wrong in a way. Mabel was so desperate not to grow up she created this world around her that guaranteed she would always stay the same, and she learns that growing up is normal and will happen, you just have to adapt to it. Dipper on the other hand is basically forcing himself to grow up, thinking things normal for his years are childish, but he needed to realize growing up is a gradual process and that him forcing adulthood isn't a good thing either. There is a balance that the siblings struck in the end.

11:21 I just now realized that Dipper realized that wasn't the real Wendy when she winked at him. He knows she would never do that. It's also what the shape shifter had done earlier in the series when he was pretending to be Wendy.

Spoilers for the final episode. Funny enough Wendy does wink at Dipper during their goodbye to each other. I noticed however she winked with her left eye. The fake Wendy in this episode and the Shapeshifter actually winked at Dipper with their right eye. Intentional or not it’s a neat tidbit imo.

Something I feel like is overlooked is how Weirdmagedon is partially due to Dipper not trusting Mabel, as Ford instructed, and not telling her about the rift. If Mabel had known what the rift was, she wouldn’t have given it to “Blipper”. It’s a parallel to Ford and Stan’s relationship as well as the beginning of the show when Dipper chooses to tell Mabel about the journal even though it says trust no one. I feel like the crux of the show is about how ppl need to trust others and trying to do things on your own can end up causing more harm than good.

I'm less mad at Mabel that at the writing in this episode because part of the annoyance is also on Dipper here. They focused a lot on character writing which usually would be great but not at the expense of the plot at the most important moment. Why didn't Dipper ever try to bring up the fact that everyone was dying horribly outside whether they lived there or not? Instead he played into Mabel's argument that's very interesting character-wise but completely irrelevant plot-wise. The episode should have found a way to fuse those two elements instead of ignoring one and people would be much less annoyed at Mabel this way, if she had to actually confront the consequences of her action instead of having a purely theoretical debate about growing up and reality. It's a lot of me-me-me, what's the best for "me" and it's literally never addressed.

@@ArkayjiyaDipper didn't brought out the fact that "everyone is dying outside" but Wendy did, and Mabel just didn't care about that, she knew that she made a deal with Bill, she was told that outside her "fantasy world" is a horrifying chaos that SHE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN, but she didn't care.

Yes, she got tricked, and I felt kinda bad for her after episode "NWHS", but after episode "Escape from reality" there's no doubt that she's selfish and not because she made "backup Dipper 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙄𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚" but also because 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 that Bill tricked her, 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙨𝙮 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙, and still refused clear mess that 𝙎𝙃𝙀 made, taking whole her and Dipper argument to the 𝘾𝙊𝙐𝙍𝙏, threatening to BANISH Dipper if he looses.

For Dipper's door the basic idea early on was that it would show him going on many adventures with Ford, then seeing an older Mabel in high school without him and seeing the negative side of staying in GF. It was cut due to being too long and due to them deciding that the bubble couldn't show the bad side of getting what he desired, hence the fake Wendy instead. If you'd like to learn more then check out the official commentary track for this episode. Speaking of the fake Wendy, the reason Dipper was able to tell is because she winked, a callback to Into the Bunker where the Shapeshifter winking instead of zipping the lips allowed Dipper to tell the fake and real apart.

Originally dipper stayed for what was behind his door and he saw Ford and went on adventures with him growing old and solitary in the process the segment was cut both for time and because it had the false reality showing him something negative which didn't make sense.

After that id recommend the Owl House's sister show Amphibia!! Both shows had show runners that worked on gravity falls and have lots of Easter eggs and even Surprise----- well I don't want to spoil. I think a lot of people get Mabel wrong here, thinking Dipper sacrificed himself again for her, but it isn't true. After Dipper's speech she was ready to let go of him and NOT MEDDLE in what he wants to do. But he doesn't want to be like Ford, he realized that growing is a process, and he needs to become an adult gradually, not magically being the same age as Wendy so he can date her and do whatever he wants with Ford. Ford being alone is what made Bill able to trick him in the first place, if Stan were there with him, he would have backed him up and ground him, cause you can't scam a scammer, like Stan. The big difference here is that Dipper trusted both Mabel and Ford. -Dipper trusted Mabel even though Ford said to trust no one -Ford trusted Dipper but not Mabel nor Stan about the rift cause he's arrogant, thought he was better than Stan, projected himself onto Dipper and therefore, thought Dipper was better than Mabel, and he shouldn't trust her, just like Ford doesn't trust Stan, cause of his grudge. -Dipper also saw through the plato cave, at first he saw the wonders of being an indiana jones's like adventurer with Ford, but he realizes the truth of what he actually wants, to be with Mabel, and then, after they've gone through high school, then he might be an adventurer WITH MABEL, and maybe the grunkle Stans. Cause we've also seen how amazing Mabel is in mystery solving, thanks to her intuition and out-of-the-box thinking, they both should be their apprentices, but Ford thought that only Dipper was worthy of being his companion, dismissing Stan and Mabel, and causing the weirdmageddon indirectly

love this episode , litterally my top 5 , the scene in the court always makes me tear up .. HOWEVER nothing, NOTHING in this entire series makes me as mad as the dippy fresh bit to a point where i kinda had to Ignore his existence if i wanna enjoy seeing mabel on screen it's not even that he isn't funny ( which he isn't) it's the fact that his concept is So messed up, like mabel hates who dipper is SO MUCH that her perfect version of him is somone totally different??? is that THE takeaway from their relationship in the past 40 episode???

Mabel only hates Dipper in 3 episodes and this the last one she does. She made a different Dipper because the last one selfishly destroyed her whole world and abandonned her just to become Ford's helper

List of shows I love i think they should watch: - Hazbin Hotel: Really cool story, great songs and a lot to analyze about the characters. - Amphibia: The last one of the big three Disney shows that's left for them to see. Would love to see their opinions in the different friendship dinamics. - Steven universe: Another show with really good songs and awesome lore. I'm interested on their characters analysis. - My little pony: Even tho the target audience is kids most of the episodes treat heavy topics. Again I would look forward to their opinions on the characters and their development. There are others but I'll leave the nerd talk.

I am very excited to see Invincible after Gravity Falls! After that, from the shows you mention potentially coming after, my top picks would be Steven Universe and The Legend of Vox Machina. You doing Steven Universe would be one that would make me genuinely consider leaping to becoming a Patreon member, quite frankly- as I would love to be a part of the discussion question generation for that series. However, I do acknowledge it is a super long one- thus, it may work better to do a shorter series like Vox Machina or even Hazbin Hotel first.

Two Western animation shows that I think you would like are Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts and Hilda. They aren't shows that are reacted to as much as others, but they are both really great series with some really creative worlds, creatures, and ideas. They both explore some really great themes and narratives too and, like I said, I think you would both like them a lot!

An amazing anime i think yall should watch soon is mob psycho 100!! It has a interesting plot and amazing characters with a great balance of awesome fights and slice of life moments! It’s definitely one of my favs
