I heard an interview with Max Norman, who engineered the two Ozzy albums that had Randy Rhoads on the guitar, and he was astonished that Randy would triple track his leads. He said he would be amazed at the complex, yet musical leads that Randy would lay down on the first track of a song, and then be blown away when Randy would say "OK, lets do it again", and Max would be like "do what again?" lol, because there was no way anyone could recreate what he just heard. Then Randy would proceed to lay down the same exact, note for note complex lead on top of the 1st one.....and then do it again!!! lol. One of the best guitar players to ever walk the face of the planet. Of course this is all subjective, but to me, he is right up there with Jimmy Page, Les Paul, and Django Reinhardt! RIP Randy Rhoads.

Randy Rhodes is one of the greatest guitar players ever. He was classically trained and took that discipline and applied it to heavy metal. The result was Rhodes influenced so many metal and hard rock guitarists to be "shredders', playing complex solos fast and tight. Rhodes actually helped Ozzy write the songs for Ozzy's first two solo albums after he left Black Sabbath. It was a plane crash that tragically cut this gifted guitar player's life so tragically short. Great reaction, great song!!!!

First of all Ozzy didn't leave the band, he was kicked out for his drug habits (ironic since the whole band had the same iasue). And while I take nothing away from RJD... RIP.. he was a great singer who also gave us devil horns... he was also never the same level as Ozzy.. success speaks for itself. As an Ozzy fan, I also appreciate RJD for what he did.. but as for his arrogance with putting down Ozzy and many rock fans for their lack of intelligence I have no use. I too have a college degree... and those who are truly intelligent do not have to put others down because of a lack of one. Intelligence comes on all shapes, forms and sizes. This post was about Ozzy... and yet still todayvwe have this petty war between the two camps. Is it really necessary? RJD was a great artist, and so is Ozzy.. can't we simply leave it at that?

Yes, THAT Slash, and the infamous Myles Kennedy (from Alter Bridge) on lead vocals. IMO, Myles has one of the greatest rock voices nowadays. With his four octave range, (and a guitar player in AB), Myles is an amazing performer. Slash hired Myles after he did his solo album with all those different lead singers- Myles sang one of the songs and Slash loved Myles so much he formed a band and hired him. HIGHLY suggest you check him/them out! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

First album I ever owned. My Dad found a copy at a yard sale in the late 80s and let me have his record player. I don't understand how I didn't literally wear it out from repeat listens. First concert I ever attended was an Ozzfest show in the 90s. I saw Type O Negative, Pantera and Ozzy back to back. Never been the same since. I don't even want to think about how my life would have turned out without the influence of Ozzy. Seen Ozzy a ton since with his own band and Black Sabbath. Last time was 2 years ago with Zakk Wylde on guitar. Ozzy still had it and killed it. Ozzy is one of a kind.
