How is the input lag? I have a GTX 1080 and I've been gaming on my 1080p monitor but there's pretty much no input lag on that monitor at all, I was wondering if you were noticing any input lag while gaming at 4K on that monitor?

wont be a 490. they will be re launching the old series like before where they are just overclocked 480 for the new 580. but vega will be pretty soon and should be worth the wait

Just got this monitor used. Thanks for the review helping me decide to purchase. Setting up, I dont see that I am getting 4k. I just got a thunderbolt 2.0 to hdmi and everytime I turn on the monitor I get a notification that I am only not using the recommended resolution settings. Right now its sitting at 1920x1080/60 hz. Not sure if its the monitor itself, or maybe my Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB in the macbook pro is lacking. Any help, greatly appreciated! UPDATE: just found out i needed to use the display port instead of hdmi port

I wish he had mentioned black light bleeding / IPS glow. Mine has a horrible IPS glow and I guess I little bit of bleeding. It’s great overall, but it has horrible blacks. Does anyone have the same problem? If not, I might return it or have someone fix it.

It's technically a fault in the manufacturing process. I didn't mention it because the model I had didn't exhibit any issues. If its bad it could be worth trying to RMA it.

TechteamGB Thank you for answer! The thing is that I don’t know if my problem is just IPS glow or another defect. When I put it on a black screen, it amazing the amount of light that comes out of it. That’s why I was concerned. But honestly it makes no difference when I am actually playing games. So I guess I will just forget about this and keeps this awesome monitor.

was on the shortlist but would it be better to hold out until the new year for new monitors with better features? theres always going to be something better no matter when you buy. I cannot make my mind up between 27" ips 4k @60hz or ips 2k @144hz (or better), budget £500 max, im not a big gamer, more interested in color accuracy & watching movies, it would be useful to be able to watch 4k videos on yt without the stuttering, also would like to see usb-c ports on monitors , graphics cards & cases to future proof them as looking to build a new desktop in 2017, just waiting to see how AMD Zen compares to Intel Skylake.

Hi, i am really excited to buy this monitor but i found a review on amazon that this monitor have light bleeding on corners . can you please elaborate does this is a defect in all units or its just in some random defective monitors !

+sharry singh it's ips so there is always some amount, you'll find that with any ips monitor. Mine - a retail unit like the one you'd be buying - had very little. It can vary batch to batch but from my experience and from others I've spoken to this is one of the better ones.

What about scaling? That's Windows10, right? I'm into web design and front end development, so I need to use a code editor, and read the code in a browser inspector as well.. 4k at 27"... text is too small, and 1440p at 27" seems right for me (like iMacs). So how is Windows handling scaling? At 150% are you getting a working space as if you are on 1440p monitor? And does it look sharp? I was thinking of getting a 1440p 27" Dell..but this one looks interesting. Thanks

I have this monitor and at 125% I have no problem reading the icons and text, however I only sit about an arm length away from my monitor

Bought this, it's an excellent panel, with minimal backlit bleed, excellent features and colors. i highly suggest to buy a 4K monitor instead of a 1440p (2K) because you have way more scaling options and the extra pixels do the job better and the price is similar. I highly reccomend to use Display Port for the best results. i run mine on a 1050ti with no issues (i am not a gamer!) The cons: 1st; the bottom side of the panel got really hot, almost you feel the heat radiated very very warm. 2nd; from the back of the monitor you hear a very annoying high pitched noise, and unfortunately there is no way to get it fixed.

What GPU would you recommend for 1920x1080 144hz? I'm not too bothered about turning graphics down to medium if it that's what it takes to get 100+ fps.

I ended up getting this one partially on your recommendation! It was refurbished on NewEgg for $419CAD. After shipping/tax, it came to about $450CAD, (roughly £250GBP, to put it in a currency I assume you're more familiar with). Assuming it's not a dud, I think I snagged a pretty good deal!

+gilesb overclockers UK, and next to none on my model. It's common to have issues with that on any ips panel but for my one it was pretty much perfect.

Hey there TechteamGB! I've been watching your videos for ages mate and I wanna say good job. I do need your help and I hope you'll respond to me here. I recently purchased this monitor and it is being shipped, but I have a bit of anxiety as to the performance of it. I have a few questions, but first let me start off with my specs that matter. i5 6500 (with stock cooler), a evga gtx 1070, and 16gb of ram. Now, I am worried that using this monitor will end my prospects of smooth gaming. Could I play games on this monitor at 1440/ native 4k and achieve over / exact 60 fps on most titles? What does 1440p look like on the monitor? And will m5 i5 be sufficient for this? Will another cooler be necessary. Sorry for the high quantity of questions, but some self assurance would greatly be appreciated

+XrSFeed no problem, happy to help. The cpu isn't really the bottleneck for 4k here, it's actually going to be the 1070. If you have games set to high as opposed to ultra, you should be fine with 60fps average there. As for 1440p, while it isn't a direct pixel scale like 1080p is, it's actually pretty pleasant to play on. I'd recommend using anti aliasing to help with some of the jagged edges but it's a noticeable improvement over 1080p while not being as performance demanding as 4k. Either way, I think you should be fine, although a cooler Master hyper 212 evo wouldn't go amiss to replace the stock cooler anyway! Hope that helps.

Do you still have this one? Any second thoughts? I'm planning to get it and I would like to know if you still think it's that good. I'll be using it for gaming mostly (specially football games) and I'm not sure whether to get this one or a 144hz one (I barely play FPS games, mostly FIFA and PES as I said)

Just wanted to throw this out there, I think this monitor is the LG 27UD68P-B version. Just wanted to throw that out there because the model number listed in video is the one without an adjustable stand, the one in the video is the one with the model number I have just provided. Also it seems like there is a small difference between the two, but I am not 100% sure what the differences are except that the one with the adjustable stand, which is the one in video, has a 3 year warranty the other has 1 year.

gotja Same here, got myself the Asus MG279Q, 27", 1440p, 144hz, IPS with 4ms delay and fantastic colors. It's also freesync, like this one. I wouldn't recommend going 4k with a 1070.

This monitor was bought for an Nvidia based system so no it's not a massive loss. It's useful if you had an AMD GPU but not a massive loss.

Because Gsync means they need to compromise functionality and costs a whole lot more. Yes, definitely still worth.

You can't use any other devices other than Nvidia GPUs on Gsync monitors, unless they put another display scaler in which costs even more money.

This monitor should have FreeSync, but I can clearly see the screen tearing when you play at 1:36 - 1:51. Did you use nVidia GPU or FreeSync was off?

Yes, looks pretty good, although no better than a standard 1080p monitor in my experience.

So, I am trying to decide to buy the Asus MG28UQ or LG 27UD68P. I plan on using my Ps4 Pro, my Xbox 1S, and I plan on updating my PC Gaming Rig with Ryzen & Vega. Which one, which one...they both have good response time, and they both are 10ms input lag. It's a hard choice.

B stands for black, there is also a W version thats white (or more like silvery)

P stands for Pivot, it has a better stand and height adjustments but looks horrible on the back

Please help dude if u can.. I have this monitor and used to use a rx480 and freesync worked amazing.. I just got a new GPU the Vega 64 with freesync 2 but my freesync wont work.. Says not supported.. Do you know why? thank u

Thank u for a quick reply. Yes using a displayport.. The one I got with the card. Its really bugging me. Only reason I got the Vega 64 is for freesync.. It worked fine with my old card

And you've updated the AMD driver to the most recent version?

Yea it says all drivers are up to date. Ive reset my monitor to default settings to see if that kicks it in but still nothing. Ive re installed AMD settings app and still nothing!! Ahhhhh

Dayum. Check in the settings the Freesync is enabled... Otherwise not too sure. Email AMD!

+capanemac I don't know of any ps4 pro fps games that play at 4k... But no, it won't matter that the monitor has 5ms response time.

I play fps(call of duty) ever on LCD tv, but when I upgrade my tv for 4K and my console for PS4 pro, I can't play because so many lag, Ex: I shoot the guy first but I dying when I saw the kill can, the guy that shoot first. After a lot of research I learn about input lag and I have 2 options. I buy a good tv 4K (Samsung series 8 ) but expensive or buy a monitor. I saw 2 monitor, u28e590d ( response time 1ms and input lag above 20ms and TN) or 27ud68-w, my choice because have low input lag. I know it has better with 1ms and without input lag but is full hd, so I hope my problems end!! You play fps? Do you like this monitor for gaming?? Thank you and sorry for my English

The one next to the monitor, it's the Roccat Skeltr. The one I personally use is the Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L.

27ud88w has USB Type C Ports and you can swivel and tile and rotate it, everything else is the same!

All the games I play support CF except FFXV! Waiting for a CF profile for it it dose say that it has it but when I play it dose not show that it is in CF!? :C So intel I get CF running I wont be able to play FFXV in 4k ;-; I cry. Unless I get a Vega 64 but that shit is expensive as fuck! so nope.
