One sunny afternoon, my whole world stopped from an LE error on my LG washer. (which, by the way, I have loved for four years) After two days of searching the World Wide Web for any help to save the cost of a repairman, I stumbled upon your video. But first... my struggle...I had inched the machine out several times, unscrewing and rescrewing hoses, unplugging, counting to various numbers, repluging, pressing this button and that one, both toghether and alone, holding my breath, mumbling oaths and promises to be a better person, praying and crying, but I had not yet completely pulled the machine out. I decided to pull the machine completely out to see how hard it would be to get access tothe mysterious internal workings (misguidedly from the back apparently). when I pulled it out, right in the middle of where it sat... on the floor, was a shiny nut and washer...my first thought was, "The strangest things end up under here." I picked them up along with lint, runaway socks and unmentionables, and sat all these treasures out of the way. I tapped on the back, stared at the panel and thought, "What the heck am I gonna do when I get it open?". I cried a little more and walked away defeated for the twentieth time. Frustrated and pouting, I was done. I numbed my mind a awhile on Facebook and App games. After some time, many status likes, and still stuck on the same level of whichever Saga, the tears dried, the bottom lip receeded, and my resolve returned. Back to my old Frienemy, Google.... which leads me to you. A few seconds into the video (which I have watched 437, 582 previously usless ones ) and you so clearly zoom in on a shiny nut and washer that apparently hold all life and happiness toghether. Long story short... tilted the washer back, screwed the nut on, rehooked hoses, repluged power, and apologized to the machine for all the horribly hateful things I had said to it over the past couple of days. My hurt and betrayal manifested in ugly words and threats of violence. I loaded the clothes I have been trying to wash for two days... pushed power and started the cycle. Holding my breath and white-nuckle gripping the lid, I wait for the load sensing to complete...this is where the LE error would display and make me want to answer it's screeching alarm with a sledge hammer. ... But this time, I heard Angels sing, and song birds join in, and babies laughing, and rainbows glistening, and unicorns prancing.... water poured into my drum. Wash cycle has completed and all is well again in the universe. So, thanks for your video, although I can't lie and say I watched the whole thing.... all I needed was the first few seconds. 😆

Good video and thanks for posting. I have the same issue with my 3 year old Kenmore Elite washer displays the LE error code. At this point I believe these front loading machines were poorly designed. They look great and make effective use of space but have demonstrated to be unreliable. I've done every step to troubleshoot the LE issue and none have solved the problem. I've practically rebuilt the machine with new parts. I'm considering purchasing a traditional inexpensive top load washer to replace this expensive so called efficient Kenmore washer.

So I was not getting an LE error. I was getting a UE (uneven load) error constantly. But replacing this piece seemed like the right thing to do. Your video is perfect! Unfortunately, after I replaced it the washer no longer runs at all. The tub spins freely by hand. But when I start a load (even if it is empty) it sits there and says that it's evening the load but the tub does not move at all. I hear a faint low humming noise intermittently for a moment and then it gives me the LE error. Which I never used to get. So I clearly made it worse. Any thoughts on what I might have done wrong? I didn't have a torque wrench so I just cranked it down really tight. Maybe too tight? Help please! :(

If the tub turns freely and is not binding and you replaced the hall sensor on the stator assembly, it is possible it is not properly installed. The other issue could be that you're getting too many suds in the machine. It is critical to use HE soap and the proper amount of it. Too much soap can cause this problem also. If you are sure it’s not the soap, we recommend rechecking the position of the hall sensor on the stator and make sure it is positioned properly and snapped into place.
