Turkey Meatloaf with Mushroom Sauce

The ultimate comfort food, meatloaf, polpettone in Italian, is always a crowd pleaser. This turkey version is lighter than most recipes, but just as richly delicious. It can be prepared in advance and baked before your guests arrive. Any leftovers reheat well when cut into slices and simmered in the mushroom sauce until hot. This is a favorite among my grandkids, and also works great for a potluck dinner. Tutti a Tavola a Mangiare!

Ohhh. Wish you posted this before I bought my thanksgiving turkey. I would have used cornbread instead of plain soaked bread and dried cranberries soaked in brandy with chopped castagne. That gravy though, I will use on my turkey this year. Yummy. Buon appetito. 🦃🦃🦃. Love your recipes Lidia!!!❤

#AskLidia Lidia, as you know and no offense to this beautiful country, America; I don't touch the meat as I am afraid of cross contamination. I am from Eastern Europe where we had everything without hormones. I primarily shop at Whole Food but still...And our chicken (I spent them on the farm) was so delicious, natural and smelled a mile away with the real chicken smell, so homey. No offense, I think that many Americans have cancer due to eating so much food with hormones. What do you personally think? I am trying to get an Italian citizenship (long story, I was supposed to be in Italy studying law but since I came to America, I was always around lawyers and working for them) and then started my 1st company and now I work 11 years in show business. I am in Beverly Hills, California.
