Life of a Southwest Ramp Agent, Marshaling in a Plane Wide View

Day to Day life for a Load/Gate Lead. The load or Gate Lead dependent upon which station your at, is responsible for Marshaling in the aircraft, hooking up ground utilities, loading bags onto the belt loader and assuring all bags have arrived for that flight, documenting the number of commodities onto a CBLS (Cargo Bin Loading Sheet) doing a pre push walk around to assure the aircraft is safe, and pushing out the plane.
This very mundane task for me is something Avgeeks are most familiar with from terminal spotting, and is my go to when I explain to people what I do for a living, "Im the cool guy with the orange sticks". This is the official kick off of my series "Life of a Ramp Southwest Ramp Agent".

Hope this series continues! I'd really like to see airplanes lined up at their gates when the airport is crowded. I know you've stated that SWA planes come in bunches but could you snap a clip of all the planes lined up at the gates? It's cool seeing 10 SWA planes lined up in STL as it is fairly new to see since TWA left.

Boeingfan727 ya i can imagine trying to do your job then taking a video at the same time is challenging. No worries if you can't haha. I'll need to take a flight on SWA at some point so I can see it myself. I use to fly SWA all the time out of STL but haven't flown since they put in all 6? of the new SWA gates.

I wish an airline would call me back. I can't wait for american to open apps for CLT. I really would like to work for southwest but they do operate at any airport around here it is all subsidized

Dustin Hauge the crazy thing is since I work at lax and every time I drive around I always say out loud I will work for Southwest one day and like my wife said say it in to the universe and it will happen and it did I fill out the online application the 2 day I got two emails and a phone call and next day a phone interview and now I’m going for the face to face interview
