I have nothing against sponsorships but I think channels should be required to conspicuously disclose paid endorsements. It seems most channels are pretty good about this but it's hard to know when you see a video about say, upgrading to Lithionics lithium batteries, did the KZfaqr get it for free, discounted, or paid full price? It definitely would make a difference about whether to trust what they are saying.

There are quite a few rv channels I have dropped for this exact same reason, paid shills for products, as opposed to "real" rver's. You two are my go to channel. Thanks for telling the truth!

There is one RV channel that I've been following since he was just a weekender. Over the years he highlighted his RV brand many times because he genuinely loved it and when he bought his second RV, he got the exact same RV, just newer. So, when he eventually became a brand ambassador for that company, I was just happy for him as he deserves the good that he earned. However, that is probably more the exception that the rule so as always, Buyer Beware. We tend to get most of our information from friends that also RV or online groups because people are more than happy to tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly in private groups.

I appreciate when the you tuber compares products ..different brand solar panels, batteries, etc. One in particular says when he gets something free but gives the pros and cons. Id really like to see comparison of bluetti , jackery etc

You are so right on. On so many things here. I only work with companies that have products I have already purchased myself and used for a long time. Don't ever push products that you don't personally know about. Just like the braces I have to wear on my feet so I can walk. I have worn them for approximately 6 years. And just last year they reached out to me and asked me to be a Brand Ambassador for them. I was so excited and honored. I just refuse to just advertise a product just to get something free. The entire goal of my channel is to help Disabled People and to inspire Disabled people and everyone to get out and enjoy life. Keep up the good work on your channel. Hopefully one day our paths will cross.

We do a lot of livestreams but don't really make anything from them. We do livestreams just to connect with our viewers. It's the closest we get to hanging out with them 😊. Like you we've gotten offers for sponsorships. We did one and it just didn't feel right. We'll cover products we use that we believe others will enjoy. A lot of the big channels can make 6 figures via sponsorships. Great video.

Just discovered your channel today. It is nice to find a channel owned by a couple approaching the outskirts of our ages instead of those half our ages. It is really refreshing. The channels that I have encountered that are blatantly hawking products are much less interesting than the ones relating their experiences while living on the road. Thank you for this video. It puts a lot of thing into perspective.

@@jimclark7233 the comments have been overwhelmingly positive and supportive- Facebook groups have the bigger channels yelling and screaming (we get the screenshots) I think they know that their time is up when it comes to promoting bad products- they will do a final push and then fade away.

Liked your honesty. I have been watching UTube for 6 years or so. It kind of got out of control when you see people go from good content to advertisers. That’s when I loose interest. I can see the motivation to make more money. That’s the American way🤷🏼‍♀️ But, it’s not why I go to these channels. U Tube is really over saturated.

About what I expected. I got sucked into KZfaq as a regular viewer about a year ago, thanks to Roku. Thanks for keeping it real. Seems in the RV genre, many have fallen for KZfaq as an occupation. When they shift from producing quality content for product shilling, it's obvious and disappointing.

Thank you for joining our Journey! The necklaces celebrate the start of our traveling life - in 2017 we section hiked the A.T. with our youngest daughter which turned into everything we do today. They are one necklace with a female hiker ( Karri) and one with a male hiker (Bob) and are both dated 2017. It is a huge reminder that we can do anything we set our mind to and “ the universe shall provide” mentality that we adopted from that point on.

Great video with lots of good info. You are not being too harsh. I'm looking to create a sailing channel, but like you I want to do it with integrity. If I came across a product I truly believed in then maybe I might sign up to promote it, but it's going to have to be really good and that company would have to allow me to give an honest review. Anyway, I could go on for a good while.

Some tubers can make some great money, in fact some rely on it for their livelihood. I'm darn glad we don't rely on it because we have NEVER been offered a deal with any vendor. In fact we did a Blog for years and never teamed up with anyone. Well I guess I have a discount code for Rad bikes and CBD Distillery but thats it and we don't really talk about it. Our channel is smaller than your "Tiny little channel" as you describe it. We do have AdSense and a small Amazon store but for the hours I put in it comes it to pennies per hour in return LOL!!! So far any product reviews I have done is not sponsored in any way unless someone happens to use our Amazon store. For the record you make FAR more than our tiny little channel LOL!! I have inscribed to channels that have turned into mainly money driven.

Im new here because I watched your click bait topic, everyone is quitting rv life. After my own research I saw that the rv parks were stacked full of desperate displaced people, the aftermath of quarantine, & agreed with you. This topic you speak on in this video had some interesting info I didnt know, but was curious about, as I thought about doing videos too. The thing is I don't care what another person has in their pocket, I'm interested in the process. Thanks for sharing & speaking out. Most people I know are not so gullible to accept things blindly, without research, but I suppose some do out of loyalty to a familiar KZfaqr's face. Hey I don't trust anyone without research, especially car sales people, lol. Question, I already know cities are treacherous but I'm curious about your experience with crime on the road, in campgrounds & boondocking? Ty again for for posting.

Honestly our experience has been quite different. We have not experienced any issues with crime anywhere in Rv parks or campgrounds. We do not boondock as a rule so maybe that helps. We do see heavier than usual drug use in certain cities but that has been covered in the news. We predominantly stay at Thousand Trails locations and have never felt unsafe. We do advise to always research anywhere you are going to stay before going!

I have previously owned a couple different new big factory built RV trailers & experienced the RV Park life, in FL. The big problem I found was finding spacious spots. I've sold the factory models & have a smaller self built camper cargo trailer now with my van. Do you know if Thousand Trails allow self built campers to participate?

Really great video, awesome content. It amazes me how some channels grow at such a rapid rate. One example is Nascar superstar Hailie Deegan. Hailie started her channel in January of 2020 and now has 585,000 subscribers which equals about $4,500 a month just from her ad revenue. She also has a sponsor for each video so that adds to her income. She also has a merchandise line that is handled all in house, they make the shirts and hats and do all their own shipping. It's been reported that she has made $2.7 million dollars just in merch. sales alone since 2020. Hailie has a massive following on all the other social platforms and I'm sure the revenue from their is pretty good. Hailie uses her social platform to attract large sponsors because racing in Nascar is very expensive and it's been working really well for her...
