[Recorded on Facebook LIVE 28/2/19] Author/teacher Jeff Foster on The One Reason Why You Haven't Healed or Awakened... YET.
Jeff's online class: www.jefffosteronline.com/
Jeff's website: www.lifewithoutacentre.com
"Healing, in the deepest sense, is not a destination or a future goal, but a present-moment welcoming of all the guests of Awareness. Sadness, anger, fear, joy, doubt, loneliness, heartache, these visitors do not want to be healed, they just want to be held; held in the loving arms of the present moment, held in your Heart... which IS the healing. Every thought, every sensation, every feeling, every scary thought, they all just long to be included, integrated, welcomed into the tender restful wholeness that you are..." - Jeff Foster

It's such a hilariously tragic misunderstanding of what's going on, this "why are you still here" attitude. If we see that we are not our thoughts, that we do not control our thoughts, that we are not our feelings, that we do not control our feelings, in fact, that there is no we/I/self really except for everything, and that all that arises is already perfect because it is here (only the mind could think something is wrong about what is), then how could we go along with the story of 'this should be different'? I want to say there's arrogance towards life in that, but that isn't quite right either. It's just our conditioned pattern of fixing, striving, manifesting in a new way. This is why it is important to not strive for a state, to learn to observe both the good and the bad, and to notice it all arrive and fall away. We cannot identify with a state, strive for a state, and expect that to bring us everlasting happiness. It is an unrealistic and typical mind pattern. The mind so badly wants something to cling to. But there's nothing to cling too. There's just what is. You can't cling even if you want to, it's just that the attempt will make you unhappy intrinsically. It requires A LOT (I've found) of 'courage' to dare to let go of the mind, to dare to let go of strivings, beliefs. And it remains a kind of challenge, something that requires a certain alertness, that really seems to arise naturally, because of course there isn't a person or individual that could be alert. Something shifts, and courage happens, alertness happens, and the mind slowly erodes, and life becomes easier and easier and more and more beautiful that way. But this can't be reached by chasing beauty. If you chase anything, let it be the intention to be here now.

This was incredible. I always wondered when I would finally be healed and fixed, and took myself to be a fixing project. I can finally let go of my year over year plan for healing and just be here...

Thankyou Jeff, "There is no "Yet" was a really helpful take/understanding for me on "There is only NOW. And that NOW is all there ever has been and all there ever will be in our experience. I just this morning listen to another video where the teacher said a similar thing. "You can only get it "NOW" because there will never be a LATER. 🤗🤗 I think the whole 'past and future illusion' is starting to dissolve for me. Thanks again 🙏🙏

This is life changing . I have been too struggling with my mind games all the time ,and recently have started getting exhausted thinking that if i will do certain practices i will get rid of all things that drags me down . I have not spend much time in this journey of finding myself but this came at the right time opening all the flood gates. I hope i could get this into deepest part of my being . Just a few months back, i had watched quiet a few of his videos but could not grasp a thing at that time ,may be i was so new to this then but this time i got everything as clear as it can be . Thank u so much that you are here to tell us a side of the story of healing that is so relieving and inspiring . Thank u so very much

maybe the act of moving towards the good, instead of from the bad, is what "being healed" is. maybe we are already whole/healed; we are already good enough; today is a blessing. we just need to realize it. remind yourself of this often, and your feelings will eventually catch up to it. go have fun, take care of yourself, and love/forgive one another

The power of actually doing this cannot be understated when crisis hits. I shattered my femur almost ten months ago on a freak bike accident and already having been quite familiar with returning to this moment caused me to stick to the moment throughout the experience. The shock obviously helped at the beginning, but the road to recovery hasn't been a short one. I am only now beginning to be able to take running steps with my leg and I have been able to walk unaided for only a couple of months now and it hasn't been completely pain or discomfort free for that time either. Still this too was all grace, I made a promise to myself the moment I knew what had happened that I wouldn't try to run away from what my now had become. Learning to come back to the moment even when it was unbearable to and holding that has taught me more than anything else in my journey. In the end me breaking the leg and allowing the leg to heal ended up healing more than the leg, knowing and being practiced in true meditation before helped, but this experience showed me the depth of acceptance of the moment. Now the default has grown into watching and holding what is.

Thank you so much - ego/society promises if we're perfect by someone else's standards - someone else who's wounded & in pain & illusion ... you're so right on target, healing is not a destination, and one-dimensional at that. None of this is linear, and I so appreciate your wisdom. thank you, bless you. it IS exhausting & desperate to chase!

Great video. Thank you. Yes. My symptoms from two injuries can still come back and wham me bc they are linked to my deep core ego patterns of not saying no to that which I don’t want/prefer/desire/am capable of at that moment- of putting others needs over my mine- of caring what others think when I say no/have boundaries. It’s a real process for me and the symptoms come back when I don’t follow my heart/soul- when my ego pushes me to do things when I care what others think when I put others needs above me own etc. So, I hAve to continually love my symptoms and be grateful and thankful bc they are teachers. And they teach me I must/can enjoy life even with pain even when I make mistakes even when my ego directed my actions even when bad things happen as a result. All the healing work isn’t for anything.. but to teach you to be present in the moment and enjoy life as best you can no matter what. Form is an illusion so focus on your vibration that is preferred and always exists no matter what the form looks like.

I agree. 'awakening', as it's sometimes conceived, feels like a deeply religious belief: follow the path and you will reach heaven. Healing is learning to accept and welcome difficulty and working through it. Life and it's beauty is in the moment. Healing through meditation enables you to live in the moment.

The “I” in the I am frustrated with myself is already enlightened. The myself is whom you think you are. The moment you realise that you are “I” the problems of the “myself” dont matter. ^If you understand this, that is basically the gist of enlightenment or whatever we call it.

The simple truth of all of this, is that we are here to learn and have experiences. There are lessons for us to learn in this lifetime, in any lifetime, and until we do learn these lessons, we will continue to go through them. Delusion and denial are two human traits that tend to hold us back when trying to progress through our lessons, but its not something to worry about, we are immortal spiritual beings, and there is no time limit to how long it takes for us to learn our lessons. Acceptance and understanding of this will make the path easier, but we still have to experience these lessons regardless, there is no short cut to enlightenment!

I'm reminded, this present moment you talk about, can't be truly found or experienced. You're expecting the Mind of a Body to experience the Spirit of our being. Understand, that being in the present moment is impossible, everything is life dancing in this forward motion of life... the Mind or Body is the last thing to know what's happening in the present moment! Yes, what's looking is what your looking for my friend and it's everywhere in everything. The only way for experience to ever happen is understand the opposite effect and that's why everything comes with it's....

Nice talk, your spot on Jeff, did you know you are talking about the basic Zen practice of being. We can't think our way out of a feeling, hurtful feelings have to be felt and allowed to flow through us in the same way as we would allow happy feelings to flow through us, then you are allowing yourself to be whole. The mind blocks hurtful feelings with thoughts and they become emotions, so emotions are blocked and tangled feelings that are created and amplified by the mind that strangle the heart.

Is it kind of like backing up and seeing that you are the totality of everything . You are the entire experience? I don’t know why” backing up” seems to fit for me I feel like I had a glimpse for a minute . It was a feeling. Different from speaking about it. Even when I try to describe it it doesn’t say what I was truly experiencing

Well, since we are electrical by nature [electrons, nervous system, electromagnetic bio-torus field, quantum vibrating microtubules in the brain, etc.], and that sodium fluoride and hydrofluosilicic acid are neurotoxins - it is understandable that people are "off". The Lancet Neurology, The Harvard School of Public Health and Dartmouth University [as well as others] state that sodium fluoride and hydrofluosilicic acid are known neurotoxins [neuro]. The toxins interfere with the electrical currents throughout the body. This doesn't even cover how the neurotoxins interfere with the critical ATP "cellular energy current" in our mitochondria
