Author/speaker Jeff Foster talks about some of the misconceptions about enlightenment. He talks about your inherent perfection... your total uniqueness and original flavour.... and your true pre-conceptual identity as the ever-present light of consciousness itself. I agree. Many of us get totally brainwashed by our conditioning while growing up. And these emotionally-charged “stories" we have learned to tell ourselves about who we really are wreak havoc upon our inner lives. The only answer is to take up a meditative practice and start to "throw it all away," piece by piece, until every part of our false story is gone. Just burn it all to the ground! And what is left will be our authentic, unaffected state of pure being. It's definitely a bit tricky, because we have to learn how to "be" all over again in certain ways. But for many of us, it is the only means to break free from the lies that were foisted upon us from our environment (and our reaction to it) when we were too young to "defend ourselves," psychologically and spiritually. Cheers

Hellow Jeff, do you acctually realize how revolutionary this sounds because by now almost the entire "sain" worled agreed that there is at least something wrong with you and at every corner there is a solution being sold - how to make you better and wiser and holier and god knows what else. Thank you Jeff for freeing us. And keep on going "preaching" the good news ;)

What I love about Jeff's message is the simplicity with which it is conveyed. In that simplicity is the courage and demonstration of truth. So many people/teachers have used this truth/message to make themselves apart from others and not the same as others. Beautifully put across in all its essence.

Around the 13:00 to 14:00th minute I felt like I was making contact with the truth of what he was stating… for me, to hear something put in just such a way… in a way that makes me realize I hadn't seen it from that perspective, however slight. It's profound to me and I'm very grateful to have heard this after so many years of "seeking". The truth that the light that I am is illuminating this present moment and allowing awareness of the such-ness of this moment, whatever is here (my pain and suffering most notably)… that is a "wow" for me to hear it put this way. I will watch it again… this is something I need to know and realize on the deepest level. Thank you Jeff.

At this point of my life I am facing a lot of confusion, chaos and uncertainty. It feels like I'm constantly trying to fix something, be it my exercising routine, my commitment to school, my relationships, self-awareness... etc. And because I know so much about spirituality, I'm always far away from that image I call 'spiritually devoted'. It's hard how impermanent all the things are, though I once get them right. Because deep down, there's no satisfaction in attaining anything and there's not that perfect situation coming. It's so discouraging. But anyway, in this video, you talked right to my heart. The hardest part though is to let go of control and perfectionism.

A radical & beautiful take on what it means to walk the Divine path!! Many walk through life locking away so much because it is not 'spiritual' or popular. There is much resistance to fear, confusion and oftentimes self-dislike. I believe in developing our ability to approach life beyond the reactionary nature of Mind. This video was a wonderful reminder not to resist or apologise for all those crazy moments; seeming to carry me in the opposite direction to the vision I hold of what 'SHOULD' be!

I love how you express this. ACIM really helped to bring this home for me. The world was made to be a place where God could not enter. The dream fireman running around looking for the dream arsonist are both from the same dreamer who so perfectly and intentionally forgot who it was for the experience of being that which it could never be. When you dream at night the people, places and circumstances disappear when you wake. Your mind made them up. So is all that I see in my waking dream. I Dream of awakening in a dream. Everything I see I know are props in a dream. Who could be the guilty one in a dream? Who is the "hero" of the dream? None other than God, source, the universe, what ever word works for your understanding, but it is in reality who we all are. We believe we are the dream roles as we know ourselves. That was not by accident. A conscious awareness is dream character. Being is our true self not consciously aware but immediate being. What a joy to recognize who you are in reality is complete perfection playing roles. I know myself as yet another perfect experience of that - as I am.

THIS JUST MAKES EVERYONE SO DEPRESSED AND NEVER FEELING GOOD ENUF ABOUT ANYTHING WE TRY TO CONKER. Y DO WE HAVE TO CONKER ANYTHING LIKE ITS A GAME WE HAVE TO WIN WHEN WE SHOULD ALL JUST LET OURSELVES GO WITH THE FLOW AND LET OURSELVES B TAKEN TO WHERE WE NEED TO B NATURALLY.!? I THINK LIFE WOULD B SO MUCH BETTER ON EARTH IF WE WOULD JUST HAVE ENUF CONFIDENCE TO FEEL THAT WE R GREAT WHERE WE R AND JUST FLOW AND RELAX MORE BUT STILL B ACTIVE ENUF TO GET THINGS DONE.!?

So, ..... I compare me with other me's trying to live up to the image of perfection, the mind 's idea of perfection is to get rid of the imperfection, and become perfect.... . the mind's version of purity .. get rid of impurity escape impurity transcend impurity and become pure.....but this is a movement. I don't need to get rid of imperfection anymore... (never had) I was taught I was not something enough.... and then i carry that pattern throughout my life I am not smart enough. handsome enough, rich enough, muscular enough good enough..

We all hold a candle and gavel, to shine our own light on people and things, and judge. Our choices are connected to our heart and mind. Our choices are always going to be good or bad, you either create love through selflessness, or hate through selfishness, and our choices exude either. These are the LAWS of the world. Apologizing and repentance is the key to love.

Every message we receive from parents, education, the media tells us we aren't good enough. The purity that we start off with as an innocent small child is slowly ebbed away, it's heartbreaking. Constant striving is right. How can we just feel so complete, not comparing ourselves to anyone, and be able to come from our deepest authenticity? He's right we all long to just stop, to go home, to feel completely at rest. I actually believe this guy when he talks. He means what he says, he's not full of shit like all of these other teachers.

great video. we are divine mess. everyone has a personal battle to overcome bc every family has some sort of dysfunction that is passed on to the child. that is why the saying goes we are all born sinners. its how we differ from other species bc we aware of the battle or contrast bw good and evil and thus can self reflect. so we are actually born imperfectly and by spiritual seeking can realize our imperfections. so perfection is realizing our imperfections and the beauty is...that still does not make us perfect =)

"The personality is not your 'lower self '. You have no 'lower self' as such. What you have is a part of your soul adpated to function in engagement and connection with the particular nature of the incarnate realm. Nor do you have a 'higher self'. These are constructs you form in your mind, and by the power of your belief, you can bring them into being and divide yourself. What you have is a single self with different functions and attributes that you are seeking to express in wholeness. What you have are differences within you, not separate entities or selves. In some way, these differences are highly creative, but because they are different, they can come into conflict and they can interfere with each other's function. Your incarnate energies can interfere with and i turn be interefred with by the enrgies of your soul, but the solution is not to eliminate one or the other but to develop the skills of integration and synthesis. You, in your incarnate experience experience of yourself, are not one or the other, personality or soul, but that which emerges from the interaction and bleding of a wide spectrum of energies, physical and not-physical. I don't care what you call yourself or this emergence as long as you see yourself as a wholeness." ... "Wholeness is not the same as unity or oneness. Wholeness comes from differentiation and maintains that differentiation to generate a flow of energy that supports interconnectedness and organization. Its purpose is to enhance and promote emergence. Wholeness is created and maintained by the power to hold oneself in being and simultaneously to give oneself away. Oneness, on the other hand, the unity of all that is, is the mystery on which all things rest. It is the rest state that complements the drive to create wholes." David Spangler, Apprenticed to Spirit"

I got tired of the striving, as everybody does (some just don't admit...), so I simply gave up. Material life really got down, absolute ruin, but what was revealed from behind the backstage of life... the VERY crazy net of life... nothing can touch that simplicity. No wealth is wealthy enough to even graze that huge simplicity, that simple wealth.More than that, what was unveiled was the ungraspable meaning of everything, and the (so-called) unusual "miraculous" events (that always happen)

I think that if we are the whole ocean and every wave contained in it, we could allow everything, including EVERYTHING. Sex in all of its mature forms, substances, meditation, food, music...but after allowing everything there are some aspects to which we are NATURALLY more in tune to. THiS is what true being, true individuality and true nature. Because if we are rejecting some waves a priori, we cannot tap into what I call TRUTH.

We are all responsible and should all be accountable because we do have choices and it's not about punishing ourselves for "wrong" choices, it's acknowledging and moving forward and mindfully asking ourselves for the next move or choice we make, "how will this be of benefit for me and for others? +Jacobo Chaverri There is no path. The present moment is enlightenment. Happenings of karma happen AS the ever-present consciousness that is "you". There is no "one" who could get enlightened by doing this or that. But there's an identification as being someone and that identification keeps the ball of karma rolling.

Perhaps they gain enlightenment after a cruel act..? after possible reflection, conscience kicks in, guilt, grappling with themselves. Maybe not joy...that's a short-lived ego experience that surely passes, but once realisation of their responsibility for putting their pain upon another, comes to light...maybe then, once they forgive or make peace with themselves, maybe then can some enlightenment shine through.

🕉There are apparent non-duality speakers in the world - that apparently appear to be visibly observable in mirrors as humanly corporeal temporally temporary body-mind complexes / action figures - observably visible in mirrors for an impermanently indeterminate duration "in" space and time - and not "of" space and time - even though we are far more than those projected images observably visible in mirrors - for an impermanent duration "in" space and time and not "of" space and time for no-body - other than seemingly mingling with All That Is & All That Is Not Empty Fullness as the contextual content - as what apparently appears to arise - as though every-thing is no-thing-ing and no-thing is every-thing-ing - for no apparent reason, meaning, and purpose - other than of its own accord and volition. 🕉And yet, non-duality speakers are seemingly increasing in greater numbers than ever before as a seemingly new resurgence of the "Advaita Movement" that had once been strongly prevalent and mainly local to India in the "Ancient of Days" thousands of years ago, when the Bhagavad-Gita and Upanishads were seemingly introduced into this dream-like reality frame as the story of Earth. >

Just another explanation . A story when believed will make the ego feel better. Oh I feel much better now that I am perfect in my imperfections. If I accept that then I will be in a better place. It sounds spiritual and good but it is just another narrative. So one jumps from one belief to another and eventually that will change . Because one will come to a place where one feels bad about themselves. The problem with this teaching is that what is is what is and they have it right that life is as it is. The problem lies in the sourcve of all this but of course one will respond it is the interpretation that is the problem. But everyone is unhappy with life as it is generally speaking. Maybe everyone's opinions and outlook is correct. All this is BS.

How do you explain evil. for example take the pilots who chose to drop the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima from a plane killing ALL life there--not just human, and causing terrible suffering and ongoing DNA damage etc. How do you explain that? I agree. Many of us get totally brainwashed by our conditioning while growing up. And these emotionally-charged "stories" we have learned to tell about ourselves can sometimes wreak havoc upon our inner lives. But for many of us, it is the only means to break free from the lies that were foisted upon us from our environment (and our reaction to it) about who we are, when we were too young to "defend ourselves," psychologically and spiritually.
