I was pretty strict about no bracing in the beginning. What do you think, for this challenge should you be allowed to brace on your knee with the non-lifting arm? I announce all my meet-up videos here: instagram.com/nicksymmonds

The variation of dumbbells is extremely useful for a small person like me kzfaq.infoUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 But the dumbbell size being large it's hard to do certain exercises like deadlift ( I have to have my hands and legs a bit wider to accommodate the size of the DB )Otherwise happy with the purchase. No excuse not to lift weight when it's snowing outside.

@@dylanwaldron9773 It makes a lot of sense when you think about it though. People who work manual labor type of jobs are basically having an almost 8h workout every workday while most people who work in office only have approximately up to 2 hours for working out a day optimistically (unless they do nothing else). That plus the variaty of exercises that come in most of those jobs. For example, in gym you usually lift weights in specific positions, with handles for best grip and they usually are perfectly balanced as well to make it easier (and safer/more healthy).

I'm pretty sure most of the people who successfully completed it just hook-gripped it, which takes no grip strength whatsoever. It's what I do when I do heavy single dumbbell deadlifts. Those who completed this are legends.

Most people can do this easily with leg strength, and you're not bending your arm or curling so there's minimal arm strength involved. Without a strap or brace this is almost entirely grip test, and a little core strength for stability.

Most people can grip half their weight, that's not even a challenge. It's not a grip test unless you're at or above your own weight. Think about it, anyone that can do a single pull up has the grip strength for half their body weight. It's not a real challenge until you're attempting a one arm pull up, then you're testing your own body weight at grip strength.

People are so different I'd like to know where you get "normal" from. Even though he is giving away money I don't like how he steps in peoples face after their first attempt and says, "nice try." He needs to stay back after backing up until they walk away. He's not giving space for anyone to warm up. This is honestly totally wrong to encourage people to lift what is likely their maximum or beyond without warm ups with less weight. Is he encouraging healthy lifestyle or encouraging needless sports injuries?

@@shaunsafety4175 lmao shut up man. One lift will in all likely hood not hurt anyone and it’s their choice to try. Overall he’s encouraging people to be healthier, it’s a positive

@Kaden O'Hare When less than half the people trying can't even do 1 rep much less clear any vertical from the ground then that is enough weight to injure tendon and muscle doing only 1 rep without a little warm up. If you don't think there's any room for him to try being more professional by leaning back more and encouraging people to get there muscles warmed up and hydrated for safety that fine but I don't accept your, "shut up." Giving that right back to you for you to hold.

45lbs is nothing tho. Unless you’re a woman.

@@NTLMBigBench do you understand that different types of men have different levels of strength? It doesn't make you a woman to have a different starting point in strength building exercises.
