I love how the guy chose to love and help Lucy rather than fear her. Its nice when mysterious deities or supernatural forces are depicted in a more positive light.

Agreed, that is what I really don't like about a lot of those stories. As I see it, dealing with, let's say higher beings might be dangerous for human beings, simply because we might get burned like a moth in a candle's flame. But this does not have to mean that those beings have to be evil or ill-spirited, but more like a force of nature. Is a vulcan evil or radioactivity? No, they are not and yet we have learned to stay away from them, unless we are especially prepared, because they might kill us. I hate it when such beings act as if they are entitled to judge us, according to standards we never agreed to and usually even without us knowing said standards. Or when strange powerful creature number 2.741 tells the protagonist, whooops, I know I never send you the memo that you are not meant to be here, but for some reason this is also your fault and not mine and now I am going to make you all kill yourself. This is what I liked about this story, this woman/being is not evil, she is more like a friendly giant trying not to step onto us human ants.

Errr...the _mysterious deity_ in this case is literally Satan. Lucifer, whatever. Morning Star. I don't see the mystery. That's basically THE Bad Guy. "but hey maybe he ain't that bad". Well sht man, then wtf does "bad" even mean anymore anyway? If the ONE guy that is supposed to represent it, isn't IT? Here's a wild thought: maybe the actual Devil's actual plan is to make people less afraid of him. Thus making more people actually come to _his side._ And stories like this one and series like "Lucifer" are part of his PR strategy? Although I enjoyed it thoroughly, I must say this story is basically reverse Twilight, but much edgier.
@VeronicaStorm98
@VeronicaStorm98 2 жыл бұрын
@@durere It is still an interesting representation of the devil. And by "mystery diety", I meant the representation of any kind of diety in a creepypasta story, not just Lucifer or God or the more commonly known ones. Various religions have their own dieties, and I feel like dieties in general are treated as overpowered, distant, unrelatable, or unforgiving to humans in Creepypasta stories. If you look at various mythologies, people of ancient times seemed to have a more personal, less distant connection to the dieties they worshiped. The story is about a person finding love and some kind of connection to Lucifer, even if Lucifer is literally a deciever.
@Furzkampfbomber

@@durere I get where you are coming from, but the thing is, while your explanation _does_ work to a point, other explanations do as well and actually better than yours. And when we are talking about Lucifer and decide to get biblical, you know it's not the devil who turns people into pillars of salt but God, don't you?
@NaBa.O3O

@@Furzkampfbomber In some depictions it's God, in others it's angels. Lucifer is an angel, albeit a fallen one, so 'saltifying' people doesn't sound far-fetched to me.

Truly beautiful story. People should ALWAYS be like this: blind to differences & reputations, unfounded rumors, unyielding in the practice of being willing to learn to love, regardless of rumors & heresay. And then, should that loved one reveal something you find frightening or shocking, we should continue to love and, if necessary, actively choose to adjust OUR opinions & personal perspectives so that the painful/shocking/frightening revelation no longer affects us. I've been through a situation like the one I described above, & I learned that the vast majority of relationships end altogether when the partner reveals this particular secret or activity. Did I like what I was told? Did I have even a modicum of interest in joining them? No. But I CHOSE to learn how to accept it; I CHOSE to learn how to be supportive & loving in word & action. Although I sometimes have a mild tendency to be afraid of being deceived after being in the dark for so many years, it's rare. And although I've never let on that the revelation shocked/upset me (other than expressing exasperation at the lie they'd kept for over a decade), it was a learning process on my part. Now, I've gotten totally used to it & regularly demonstrate my support. Is it something that I dig now? No. But I still dig the PERSON. Like I said, it's A CHOICE. Always.
