I could never hate Yachty. He was never a disrespectful punk. He's got a great personality, he's very intelligent, and he's earnest, i.e. he doesn't put on the fake "hard" persona that so many other rappers do. It's sooo hard to dislike him.

He definitely has put on the hard persona on his songs with Tee Grizz. He's from the hoof though so it's not really this "persona" people like to say about a lot of rappers. Most of them come from places were you have to be hard to even play outside. I'm white and when we 1st got to my neighborhood every kid would want to fight me to see if I was a soft white boy. Physicality and toughness is how these kids are accepted

i went to high school with him and the coolest part is that he wasn't even in our performing arts program. he was a "district kid", (which is what PA students called non-PA students who attended the school because it was in their district), yet he made it bigger than all of our classmates in the PA program.

I don't have a favorite year. I just remember this being the decline of hip hop for me. One of the worst freestyles ever imo. And it stained hip hop for years. We haven't moved that far past this and it's 2023. A lot of folks tapped out. Once the bar was set this low hip hop changed for the worst, imo.

Shit like this pisses me off because I’m a real hip-hop head and I love rap the core and everyone around me knows this, so when I see shit like this, it touches me to the core because I really appreciate what hip-hop has done for me and the things that has shown me and the way that it makes me feel when I listen to it and the fact that I am an artist myself so when I really write my music I speak from the heart and every lyric I say is heartfelt because that’s where it’s coming from and today these rappers taking rap for granted and overshadowing the real lyricist who are making good music and or not looked at

Another banger, Patrick. These days, I couldn’t name a single song, outside of knowing lyrics and all, bc the scene is just tsunami saturated but what I can do is appreciate hard work, sick drive and natural talent esp when combined with a laid back vibe and straight heart. Yachty isn’t just “another SoundCloud, lazy mumble rapper”. The kid is uber talented and hustles like no other. Maybe one day I’ll learn a few of his bars. But really, I’ll most likely stick to respecting from afar. Big ups for all you do to keep us educated, entertained and above all else; hydrated 💦
