Linda Maria Ronstadt (born July 15, 1946) is a retired American popular music singer known for singing in a wide range of genres including rock, country, light opera, and Latin. She has earned 10 Grammy Awards,[2] three American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award, and an ALMA Award, and many of her albums have been certified gold, platinum or multiplatinum in the United States and internationally. She has also earned nominations for a Tony Award and a Golden Globe award. She was awarded the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award by The Latin Recording Academy in 2011 and also awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award by The Recording Academy in 2016. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2014. On July 28, 2014, she was awarded the National Medal of Arts and Humanities. In 2019, she will receive a joint star with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for their work as the group Trio.
"I Can't Help It (If I'm Still in Love with You)" is a song written and originally recorded by Hank Williams on MGM Records. It hit number two on the Billboard country singles chart in 1951.

Dear brother & sister fans of Linda Maria Ronstadt, The Country Music Hall of Fame needs to induct her this year. She deserves it based on her music contributions, promotion, and drawing new fans to the genre. Dolly & Emmylou have been members since 1999 & 2000 respectively. Her induction now would also once again complete the Trio and make a place of permanent honor. Do it while Linda is still with us to enjoy it.

@@jysmtl She'd been playing guitar since she was a kid. There's a famous picture of her, I think when she was 14 or 15, she is sitting on the floor with a twelve-string in her hands. That wasn't for looks. That photo was a family photo, before the world heard Linda Ronstadt.

Linda Ronstadt is like the female master of all musical genres. She was the queen of rock n roll in the seventies. Several years the top grossing touring act. Then she went south and became queen of the mariachis. Then she became the toast of Broadway, and earned a Toni award nomination for a revival of the Pirates of Penzance. She was the "total package". She probably could have sung opera too. She is a living musical legend.

There is something other worldly about Linda Ronstadt. That voice of strength, beauty and warmth, her rare ability to be generous and deeply beloved in a dirty, backstabbing male dominated business, the way she wore her fame( she was the dominant female superstar from the mid 70s to the early 80s) so lightly all that matters but there is a vibe and spirit that sets her in own spectrum. Loved her then and now. Sigh...

Three of the greatest women country singer's the world has ever known. Dolly became the worlds best song writer when she wrote the song about her Mother leaving her dad. "If She did, she never did, she never said so, to Daddy." It is great. Linda, when I woke up one morning while she was singing Blue Bayou. I thought I had died and she was an Angel singing. I was wondering how I got to heaven? Then in 1976 at Circle Star Theater. The stage turned very slowly. It a Willie Nelson Concert, the opening act started singing before I could see her. By the time she faced us I was on the floor. This drop dead, gorgeous woman, truly sounding like an Angel, beautiful beyond belief, put me in shock. Later I learned her name was Emmy Lou Harris. She's in her 70s now, still beautiful beyond belief. There are a lot of great female singers. Emmy Lou has stayed at the top of my list since 1976. Before that, I had never heard of her. I never knew she was that unbelievable voice harmonizing with Gram Parsons?
