The brick edge looks marvelous, it makes such a finish look to the sidewalk and it makes the area pop as well. You are a very lucky lady, these guys doing all of the work are very meticulous. Things are really coming together beautifully. I’m a little surprised that they sent you these tiny boxwoods though. What’s up Southern Living!? Linda and I are getting too old to wait for those babies to grow up enough to hide those chairs 😂🤣. I'm with you, I'm too old to wait over seasons! ❤On another channel, a gardener who is also a Southern Living associate like Linda, said that the Better Boxwoods are in short supply because they're just now releasing them. He said it's hard to get bigger plants and for many people they won't find them in garden centers much. I thought I also heard Linda comment about the supply also. Because they're blight resistant every one wants them. But in ground they probably grow fast.

That is a really skilled crew of landscapers. Several years ago, I had a large circular loose laid stone wall built around a tree that was on a slope. The back of the wall is about ground level and the front is about 5 feet tall. The guys did the whole thing with just a shovel and a string and it’s PERFECT.

Hi The brick edging is a game changer. People don't realise that 35 years making and developing a garden made you the very popular person you are today. It's impossible to explain,other than time, how your former garden (and many of us who understand living in a house many years) evolved into such a beautiful,serene attractant and haven. Looking good!! You’re crew is doing an awesome job. And do let them dig for you…😊! Life changes. I do a lot of digging, but also have someone help me with the heavy stuff these days. On the screening under the flagstone…I have been doing research for what to put around my foundation perimeter, as right now there is a lot of ill placed unleveled flagstone. When you turn one over there are lots of insects. I learned to help not only with those bugs, but for moisture control that they should all have crushed/screened gravel under them. So glad to see your guys doing that! Thanks for sharing your project with us!

Hey Linda everything is coming together nicely. I love the roof it's unique and gorgeous. For some reason I thought the boxwoods would be larger. I like how you pivot if things don't work out as designed. I wish to remove all of the grass in my front yard its the size of yours & same design as well with walkway to the front door. I'm tired of maintaining all that grass more work than our beloved plants 😉. Please enjoy your home. Thanks for sharing.

Your porch and walk look so nice, love the brick edging. I have (29) boxwood in my small front yard, mostly green velvet and green mountain. Some line my front walk and the others enclose my yard. I had planned on putting in english ivy in center, took out the grass. But now am having second thoughts on the ivy. So I am eager to see your end results, maybe will get some ideas from your plan. I love the look of your beautiful cottage on the hill.
