His "old" monitors are the "Mackie CR4" and they sound great for $150 (and the new version even has BT built-in) - and yes, they actually come with the foam pads, which is really nice imo!

But… are monitors=on the desk of a computer and with a good quality input, not a classic TV input that 50% if the cases is compressed. I discovered that 1 year ago: I used my monitors for the TV some months and they sounded bad. Then I bought a JBL Soundbar and something that you can hear is that if you listen to the TV it sounds very very great, but if you put a music with the Bluetooth with some quality, it sucks.

@@Juhuuu Well, if that's their concern, they could just ensure the the prices are mentioned at the end of the video. People who care about the 800+ price tag would probably still get turned off by the price when they look it up like I did. So Linus could've done the viewers a service of saving them the time to look it up. And more often than not, price is a major factor on whether Linus would recommend a product or not.

The speakers your using are near-field monitors made by Mackie...They have a flat-ish response and are meant to be used at a desk rather than for a theater application, not unlike the differences in visual computer monitors vs. tv's, projectors, etc...You need far-field monitors for a better listening experience in that application...Those speakers are generally purchased and used by people making making or editing sound in the home recording industry...consider them a personal sound system not unlike your headphones, :)

Those are Mackie CR5BT 5" monitors, and definitely have a limited soundstage. I'd personally recommend a set of Adam A7Xs with a Sub10, or even Focal Twin6BEs with the Sub 6 (my old setup). Currently using Adam S3Hs with a matched Sub15 through a Grace m905. Vastly depends on whether you prefer the sound of Adam's ART tweeters (very open highs and upper mids) or Focal's Beryllium tweeters (excellent transient response, but I just couldn't wrap my head around the midrange).

After watching all reviews of so many sound bars for two months, I finally decided to buy this Z9f with rear speakers.I have bought that for Rs 65000.it’s really worth for money.it’s awesome.No connectivity issues.I have seen so many Marvel movies and really enjoyed that.we can feel the immersive sound around and above us.If you are in dilemma like me,don’t hesitate to go for it.

@@tonan8888 best AVRs cost around 1500e. AVRs that can drive the speakers for atmos cost around 800e otherwise you will get bad audio quality. Even if we say 500e for avr that's over 1500e for 5.1.2ch speaker setup as you need avr as well among other things. There are no cheap 5.1.2ch speaker set for bellow 1000e. So yeah... Dolby atmos is just very new tech and it's too expensive while with this you get good set without breaking your wallets neck. I wanted to plan to get dolby atmos 7.1.2 ch but theyre still in premium segment and without spending 2k e on speaker set alone (1 dolby atmos integrates up firing speaker costs like 500e.)

before he was using a smaller piece of shit vizio tv.. along with old pc speakers... now he got a bigger higher end Sony 4k hdr tv and pretty much the best sound bar available..
