It was that 6 in the ‘prog-6-up/down’ reset code that was the magic key. Your video is the only one I found that provides that. Even with the exact same remote, their instructions didn’t work. I am truly grateful... as are my neighbours, now that the swearing and screaming has stopped. 🤬 I am very thankful that you took the time to make this video. 🙂

This worked perfectly on my older Genie remote first time I tried. Too bad I wasted two hours getting very frustrated with Genie manual online but your easy step by step saved my Sunday and probably the remote from a ten LB sledge hammer, hahaha. 😹

Worked perfectly !! One note to viewers, initially I could not get this to work and discovered my LEARN button didn't work! MAKE SURE the LED lights up when you press the learn button. It is very fragile and can damaged easily by pushing too hard. I was able to open the unit and jumper the switch but i dont recommend trying that if you do not have electrical experience. Thanks!

Totally worked! The instructions on my keypad cover did not say anything about pressing “prog + 6 + up/down” at the beginning but I did it anyway and it works fine. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼

I don’t really comment on things, but out of six videos, yours was the only one to work! Key was to ensure the correct keypad reprogram. Including the “6” on reset solved everything from there forward. Thanks man!

Watched several other videos which apparently had errors. This is the only one I found which yielded success. I think that the note to wait until the keypad back-light extinguishes is a critical step. Thank you.

I agree with Matt...very detailed. After calling the number on the keypad, I waited over an hour for assistance. Then I went online to chat with a representative, which was of no help. This gentleman went through the process, I took abbreviated notes to help as I went through the process. It works great. THANK YOU ! !

Very good video, I was able to program mine using this method. It didn't work for me the first couple times I tried, so just 1 suggestion for anyone doing this and it's not working: After the initial steps of clearing the keypad and putting the new code in (BEFORE HITTING THE LEARN CODE BUTTON) wait for the back light on the keypad to go out also. In the video, he mentions that, but it seems like you only have to wait for it to go out before the final step of testing the keypad. I was following the video and the learn code light on my opener wasn't becoming a solid red when I typed the code in. So I went to try it again, waited for the backlight to go out before hitting the learn code button on my opener, and it worked. Thanks!
