Way more than 10 years ago. Crash was 1996. I grew up on Dave Matthews.

Ha ha the video was uploaded 10 years ago so I figured the song was 🤣. 1996, wow that's 1 year longer than I've been alive.

Grew up on Dave Matthews… ugh. Great, but makes me feel old. I started listening to Dave Matthews in college and saw him and Tim Reynolds on tour on campus in 1998. Dave is only 10 years older than I am.

To get a real idea of Dave Matthews do either or all of "Ants Marching", "Watchtower", "Warehouse", "Two Step" or "Grey Street" and pick any of the live versions. The Central Park live videos are amazing.

This is Dave's most "pop" song. The band was more Alternative Fusion, and the group has a LOT of range. This song got SO MANY people laid in the 90's. - Warehouse gets to the harder end of the spectrum. - Ants Marching has killer harmonica solos - Too Much gives more of Dave's hard rock vocal effects. - Jimi Thing is a trip all on its own. - Don't Drink the Water is an extremely powerful anti-colonial protest song. - Mother, Father is hard to listen to without tearing up. - Spoon has guest vocals from Alanis Morrisette. (Actually, so does Don't Drink the Water) Just listen to it all!

“Laid in the 90’s” for sure. My wife and I were dating in high school in 1996 when Crash was released. Getting laid to this song then, definitely. 25 years later, still getting laid to this song. Thanks Dave! 😂

I’d add Satellite and #41 to that as well as What Would You Say as mentioned by someone earlier. I also like The Best Of What’s Around, but I’d also say that it’s not his strongest track. Saw him and Tim Reynolds’s play in Wait Chapel at Wake Forest University in 1998 with my wife (then girlfriend). Had a rare bought of luck and got tickets in the 4th row. Great concert!

I was 15 when I first heard Dave Matthews Band and never looked back. What Would You Say was my new jam and the album, Under the Table and Dreaming, was a constant on my CD player. Oh, that was 1995 btw. This album came out a year later and I listened to it so much it made my friends sick. LOL. To this day Dave Matthews is my guy.

Well said. It was my first song back in the 90's and it hooked me but it's hardly my fave song. I actually like Crush better anyway, Satellite and so many more, too many to type out.

I know Im a year late to this but....I ADORE your energy. You embody ADHD-Gremlin vibes and Im here for it. Do yourself a favor? Check out the DMB's catalog. Find "Drive in Drive Out" (off the Crash album)..its high energy and insane. Its great.

James Blunt? mkay... lol :D not to rain on your parade of identifying something you think sounds similar - DMB is a pretty high level of musicianship, that you won't find very often in the radio or top 40. Not James Blunt.

Welcome to the world that is the Dave Matthews Band. They’re a completely different monster live. Every show is 3+ hours and an experience. If you like melody, you need to react to Dave Matthews + Tim Reynolds singing “Bartender” at Radio City Music Hall.

Shame that you listened to this first and didn't give them a second chance :( DMB...anything LIVE is a MUST. Take the suggestions of those below....the song that got me hooked was Ants Marching....then Two Step...Warehouse...and on and on. My family and I, together, must have seen them at least 50 times over the past 25 years. A live video is best.

yeah the lyrics to this song haven't necessarily aged well. Kinda creepy, and kinda meant to be. But glad to see this reaction. Again, as most people have said, this is far from their best song. His songwriting is so much more intricate and complicated than this. Bartender, Warehouse, #41, Two Step, Grey Street.

I’ll try to better summarize some of what people have been trying to get it about Dave Matthews Band. First and foremost… wrong song and wrong video. Crash into Me is a great song, but it’s long and slow. You should have picked something much more upbeat like Ants Marching or What Would Say or even Tripping Billies. That video, even if the “official” one… ugh. Actually for almost any great musician, I’d recommend to ONLY use their live performances for these first time reaction videos. The performance shows off their talents more and for Dave Matthews… it helps you to better appreciate the genuine skill and complexity of their music.
