You could literally see the physical pain it caused him to get down to her level and know he'd have to get back up, but he did it to not talk down at her. That's sacrificing one's self for another. He made sure no aspect of that interact would be unpleasant in the least for her. When he was getting up, for a moment, I wondered if he'd be able to without help.

I too have that 'Santa' look about me, and every year around Christmas, I get to see the Childrens eyes light up when they see me... and you bet I play along... there is nothing more touching than the wonder of a Child, the world gets tough quick enough. A little joy for them (and their Parents seem to get a kick out of it too) can change the day in an instant. 🎅🎅🎅

I personally know a few myself, and we all have Santa stories. I always tell the young ones, I am one of Santa's helpers, to help avoid confusion. I don't know if there is a better gift, than the look of bewilderment and awe in a small Child's face ❤🎅

For years my husband has been mistaken for Santa. He's really a big ol biker but he makes an excellent Santa for little kids who think they just had the experience of a lifetime running into Santa while out shopping. Big white beard, white hair, and a big round belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly. After Halloween until a little after Christmas every year you would think he is a major celebrity. He has to give hugs, listen to what is on their Christmas lists, and has pictures taken with random kids by their mothers every time he goes out. He has even had parents buy his dinner while dining out because he takes the time everytime to talk to every child who thinks they are talking to the real Santa . He says it's fun to give the kids a moment of magic. Kids get so few of those moments these days he is so happy to be one that can give them a memory most remember for their whole lives.

man, his soft speech, getting on his knees with an injury so they could be on the same level, all his kind demeanor towards the girl are so so beautiful!! You could tell he was a little hurt at first but clearly put a big effort still to say all the right things, pausing sometimes to think about what he would say next not to ruin the magic of christmas for this lil baby. And just look how happy and proud she was that she was having a conversation with Santa, lol What a wonderful human being I look up to people like him. His humanity was never lost along the way!

That's so true. I get small children coming up to me as we approach the holidays and it truly is uplifting. I did notice this gentleman had difficulty kneeling like he did which fills my heart. I look like a skinny Santa and don't have any difficulty crouching or kneeling so I can appreciate someone who had to try to kneel for her.

Went on holiday with my family last week and my dad was also called Santa by a kid haha, fun little interaction. My dad says the kid mumbled something that sounded like “Santa” but other than that, the kid didn’t talk to him but just stared at him with a little grin as his parents walked him away lol.

When my kids were about this age we went out to dinner. At a table next to us the elderly gentlemen greatly looked the image of Santa. The kids peeked at him throughout the meal. Then asked if they could say hi. That elderly gentleman's face lit up when they went over to his table & he played the role so well we knew he'd done it countless times. My kids are in their late 30s now & have never forgotten that day.

What a genuine experience for this little girl. Just him crouching down and making a better connection with this little one makes a big difference. As a short child, I can remember when adults would speak with me, the ones who bent down were the ones who made the biggest impact. This made my day.

He obviously enjoys this! He’s dressed in red and grooms his beard and mustache in a traditional “Old Saint Nick” style. All he has to do is show up in a store and small children will flock to him! What a good hearted man. He’s so gentle and kind! I love to see so much good in the world!

This happened to my son when he was about 5. He was so excited to see Santa in the middle of summer in Texas of all places. The man was sweet enough to go along with it. My son is now a man with his own child. Thank you random Mr Santa who ever you are.

It puts a warm genuine smile on my face to see that good-hearted people like this still exist in the world. There's a lot of rude older adults who would want nothing to do with children, but this man clearly isn't one of those adults. He has my respect for not breaking her spirit. Much love to him and the little girl he befriended. ❤ Side note: It is Christmas Eve, 2023 (5 hours before the big day) as I am watching this, one entire year after this upload.

If only. Out here in The Netherlands kids don't expect to see the man himself wandering along the street. Their hero used to be his black companion and yes it sometimes happened that kids in their enthusiasm reacted to seeing black people as "Pete is here". Glowing with expectation, just like this girl. Sadly yes used to be, because what happened is that black people started howling that this was a hurtful reference to when they were slaves. Politicians responded by banning Saint Nicks black companion to take part in public festivities, which is essentially repeating history as various instances of power have tried to destroy this ancient tradition (it's estimated to have existed for at least four thousand years) in a similar way many many times before. Which is really why the man himself today is a saint rather than the god he originally was.

Hero’s don’t wear capes. This most probably made his day as much as it made the little girls day. It’s people like this that deserve recognition. No hesitation in coming down to her level. I remember when I was a little girl, I saw an old man walking around in December and, in my eyes, he looked very much like Santa. So I said: Santa? And that man did 🤫 and then smiled at me. I never forgot it, and I am sure this little girl won't either! Such a magical time.

If a man was to talk to a child like this in the UK then the parent, relatives, onlookers and even the child would shout out about abuse. That’s what the UK has come to. Nobody will help a lost or distressed child any more, including teachers etc, for fear of accusations that are totally untrue but stated for fame and compensation payouts. I will talk to anyone, anywhere, any time but it’s terrible what people accuse others of nowadays.

That's so sweet. My youngest daughter (when she was about 5, now she 23) somehow come to the conclusion that reign deer needed carrots to snack on while Santa had his cookies. But to make it quicker for them, she INSISTED THE CARROTS BE SHREDDED UP IN BOWLS WAITING ON TOP OF THE FRONT PORCH ROOF. so we had to not only make cookies and have them out but I had to make sure we had carrots and shredded them up for the deer. I got to remember to tell my parents that the reindeer need to snack on prime rib and fried jumbo shrimp.

We left out carrots for the reindeer, too. And a few martinis, a pack of beer, Marlboro Reds, two aspirin...
