In this session, we dug into the details on getting the best performance while editing on large monitors, and output settings for print (including sharpening functions) as well as the difference between "flow" and "opacity" in brush sliders.
Join us for live editing in Capture One - with your own images - Today, we're also going to specifically cover output settings for print.
To participate, or for more info, head to: www.paulreiffe...
And don't forget, the discussion continues on our Behind The Scenes Facebook group: / paulreifferlive

Paul, I am quite new to Capture One, coming from LR. I have watched a lot of videos from different people, including C1's own tutorials. Your video is the best I have seen. Period. I have replied your techniques on images that had applied other techniques that I had learned online so far. Your technique is giving me the best results, maybe that's because I now understand Capture One a lot better. Thank you so much. I liken you to Mark Galer, who is also a great teacher.

Nice explanation of the brush Flow and Opacity. I understood what Flow did, but Opacity not so much, thanks for clearing that up.

Thanks Paul. I would like hear your thoughts on printing directly from C1.

Honestly, it produces some great outputs, so if printing locally - doing it from Capture One (with the right profiles loaded) is a good choice :-)

@@Paulreiffer I agree - but if it fits into your schedule, I'd appreciate your insights into printing settings. I've been using C1 for a while now, but your videos and David's prove there's always something I can learn! :-)

Awwww - It's OK, I won't tell him! ;-) But seriously, it's (in huge part) down to just different ways of working. One of the things I like with Capture One is that I can build the tool around my workflow, so it "fits" me - meaning two different people can have two very different ways of working, both in the same software.

Hi Paul, if I understood right. I need to load the ICC paper profile to have the closest reproduction in terms of colors/sharpness to what I will get out of my print, isn't it?
@Paulreiffer

Yeah, so the argument goes - if your printer is also using an Adobe RGB 1998 profile, AND you've calibrated your monitor, you won't go far off... ...BUT, to be sure to match the specific print profile (and paper) that you're using, it's going to be better all round if your printing company can provide you with an ICC to load onto your computer :-)
