I must say that although I did upgrade to capture one pro 20, I felt that the price was far too high, but these latest improvements make it worth the upgrade and I am much happier now.

I don't think you were alone with that thinking, Geoffrey - but 20.1 has definitely made the upgrade worth it now :-)

These sessions are outstanding keep up the excellent work....side note would love to see how to do focus stacking with Capture One,,,,,,,

So, we can't do Focus Stacking IN Capture One, but we can use the integration with Helicon Focus to show you how to do it. Will add to the to-do list ;-)

Wow what an amazing edit of that first cityscape, I noticed from the off the street light next to the tall building leaning in after edit parallel!

Absolutely loved the session and learned so much from it. It’s just another thing getting your own information images edited instead of another one. Now I can compare your edits with my own ones, compare and play with them. Great way to learn from two experts 👍

I'm with Paul - it would be *very* useful to be able to invert a luma-ranged mask in such a way that we get a new mask of the inverse of whatever is was originally masked *after* the application of the luma range. This would, in effect, be an "everything else" mask - i.e., a mask consisting of everything else not contained in the luma-ranged mask. I've been in need of that several times. As it stands, neither inverting the mask, nor inverting the range, nor inverting both simultaneously achieves this. Neither is it always possible to create a second luma-ranged mask to achieve the same effect.

I think it exposes the difference between how a logical “coding mind” works vs how photographers might approach the processing of an image... 😂 I’m up for change! 😎

With respect to luma range and inverting, if we wanted the inverse of a luma ranged mask, would it work if the mask was rasterised, then inverted?
@Paulreiffer
@Paulreiffer 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that'll work - but bear in mind once it's rasterised, it's no longer editable in its original form. You CAN use the "Invert Range" tick box in the Luma Range dialog - but because it doesn't actually invert the settings in that box (only the result), I fear that could get a little confusing...!

Paul, As usual great session. I took your recommendation and sent a feature request into C1 support. In the meantime I was curious whether you might have a workaround. The feature/function is to send selected multiple images to be set up as layers in Photoshop (like in LR). They would then be aligned, blended, composited, or whatever and then sent back to C1 for final finishing touches. I have done this for a single image (using "edit with") but not for multiple images. I have read several different approaches particularly on Architectural and Real Estate photo forums but they do appear to quite cumbersome. Any ideas or suggestions? Regards, Lew

So.... "Out of the box", I don't think there's a perfect solution for you, sorry to say... The (clunky) way would be to "Edit With" all of them, composite as a DIFFERENT file name in PS, and then re-import the TIF back into your Capture One environment. Anything else is going to overwrite one of the original file names as the composite, and that's not going to be great long-term. I know the whole "Round Trip" theme is one the developers look at quite a lot - so hopefully the support request will help bump such levels of integration up the list in the medium term, but I doubt it'll be a short-term change...

@@Paulreiffer Paul thanks for the response. I will attempt the clunky method. I am actually surprised that this is not higher on the product managers list as this is done quite a bit in LR-PS workflow.

Love C1 and the new version. I have had a major problem selecting (for deletions) existing origin points. I can move them easily but not just selecting for delete. It seems VERY fiddly. Is there a secret I am missing? Thanks, Tom
@Paulreiffer
@Paulreiffer 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, So - to be honest, I haven't experienced that problem. If I click on the origin point with the heal tool enabled [Q], it goes orange, and I can hit the delete key to remove it. Are there maybe multiple points in the same area? (Does it make it better if you zoom in?)

Thanks Paul, I still have a hard time just selecting the origin points. I can drag them fine, but the act of clicking the mouse (Apple) causes a small movement in the origin circle. When I get the 4-way arrow lined up centered on the origin circle, a click causes the circle to turn orange, but most times (80% or more) it also causes a tiny movement and no selection occurs. Very frustrating. Enlarging the image does not help. Are you using a mouse?
@thomaswhitmore5095

Actually it’s the letting up on the mouse that causes the origin circle to deselect (turn while from orange). It stays selected as long as I click down.

I borrowed my wife’s trackpad and all works as it should. Might be a bug in the implementation withApple mouse.
