Liverpool fan here. Very optimistic for this season. If we get top 4, win the europa league and the carabao cup which all look likely, its a great season for us. Gives us another summer to finish the rebuild and go for the title, but I think that's sadly beyond us this year

Liverpool just needed the 22/23 season as a break, the season before they literally played every single match theoretically available to them and the squad was exhausted / in a slight injury crisis for specific areas (especially cb's), now they're back, have somewhat had a break and a completely renewed midfield they're back in fighting form

Our depth this year is great, Salah leaving for AFCON isn’t as big of a problem as it could be as Szoboszlai can play on the right comfortably and Thiago, Jones and Elliot can come into the midfield for him

Dominik Szoboszlai was the best sign of Liverpool in the last 5 years , the guy running up and down all game long , giving the pace to the team , deffend pass lines he can shot anytime inside 20M , he is just insane and if his teammate actually learn how to score he would have like 10-12 assist already in the season.

The fact jarel quansah didn't get mentioned is unforgivable. We essentially have 5 centre backs that would start for most PL teams.

Loving this season so far. Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Man City all look like they have serious chances of lifting the title this time.

The midfield refresh has been SHOCKINGLY positive. It's insane that the new midfield is playing so well together already. The team's strongest attribute might be the incredible depth at both midfield and forward line - there's easily 2-3 players that could start at any position and no one would think it's a downgrade. A little bit of added depth to the back line would be welcome, though Quansah has been a revelation as a young CB, so maybe it's just the fullbacks that need more coverage.

It all depends on injuries and the Referees for Liverpool. If the majority of the squad can stzy fit and not pick up and serious injuries and the Refs and the VAR do their job properly, i think they can go close this season. I think its going to come down to when all the top teams play eachother and who gets those points.

Quietly, cautiously optimistic. When it takes THAT much shenanigans to beat us, we have to be on to something. We do need Endo to start settling in for the second half of the season's crunch time if we're to be serious enough though, otherwise we would need to find someone in the winter to bring in. Also, Gravenberch looks immense.

Top 4 is the only target i set. We have a new midfield. It's nice to see everyone gel together quickly. However, to really be back and going for the title, we got to win the winnable games and not missing chances in front of goal getting unnecessary draws or defeat. Our defense is suspect. Besides endo, who rarely plays, we don't have a defensive midfielder to protect the back. We're there, but lacking in a bit.

The squad depth and commitment is crazy now, they can play with two almost completely different teams in Europe and England with minimal to no loss in effectiveness. This has been impressing me the most. The amount of pressure this takes off the starting team is underestimated in my opinion. Of course they would want to start but knowing everthing is not gonna break apart once you’re not feeling great is gonna make you less likely to push beyond a breaking point. Just look at Bayern this year after they failed to make transfers in defence and midfield the pressure and injury level is high and those who do start constantly get told told by the coach and media they’re just filling in for a ‘missing, perfect’ holding 6, right back etc.

Andre Trindade in January could be the defencive midfield signing that really makes it happen

if we get Andre in January... and this new midfield is only just learning each other's first names let alone everyone's tendancies. Once these boys learn each other's patterns...Imagine what LFC could do when Macca and Szobo are the attacking mids while Darwin/Cody and Diogo/Lucho and everyone has had a full season working together and that isn't even taking into cosideration what Gravenberch could become...LFC is lowkey scary to play right now.

It's like everything is falling into place. And rapidly; it's crazy! And there is this certainty that we will get results in every match no matter what happens (excluding the referee Liverpool witchhunt 😒). Last time we had this feeling was with the 18/19, 19/20, 20/21 squads. And we all know everything they achieved especially that 19/20 squad. Now in the current season, we have even more skilled and talented players in every area. Also, seems like the club will be adding more quality in the January transfer and/or summer window. Having said this, the majority of Liverpool supporters are quietly confident that this team can mount a significant title challenge and go deep in the cup competitions if not win a few. Personally, I want to win the Carabao and Europa trophies, go deep into the FA Cup minimum while also getting top 2 or 3 in the league. I don't care if we double qualify for the CL and take a spot. After that Spurs game, I've decided to be more ambitious and ruthless as a supporter. There was little to no solidarity from most EPL teams with what happened in that match. Liverpool needs to be that ruthless, unbreakable 19/20 team again. And I believe we are on course to be that team again, and much greater.

The up and down example isn't really fair. That year they finished 3rd was one of the best coaching jobs Klopp has ever done. They lost all their CBs to the point where they finished the season with two kids manning both spots. I've never seen such bad luck at one spot.

Having those legs back in the midfield is HUGE!!! Fabinho's game was always about positioning and know how and not speed, it was Henderson and Wijnaldum that did the running along with the forwards when pressing, last year Wijnaldum was gone, so was Mane, Thiago was never known for lung busting press runs, Henderson was willing in spirit but his legs were gone, Firmino was injured a LOT, left forward's were always injured it seems, that effected the cohesion too, young players were given a chance with mixed results but none staking a claim to a starting position like Trent did. Liverpool only planned to replace one midfielders, but with surprise influx of Saudi transfer fees, removing highly paid veteran wages and replacing them with young, hungry, willing and moldable players has done wonders, there been leaks from the club saying Klopp feels reenergized mixing and matching, tingering with formations as he grew to dislike and feel bored with the previous team as pretty much every player picked himself and everyone knew what liverpool did best.
