I saved for 2 years to take a Greyhound tour to Mexico for 2 weeks, and I was 20 in 1962. Merida was toooo hotttt in 1963, when I was invited to visit there by an AfricanMexican son and his Mom. I was married 10 years before I had my only daughter in 1980 at 37. I am 80 now, living in Queretaro since 2021. I have traveled the world on my own dime. I worked, and I helped non beggars. Electric bills are more than rent in Merida.

I loved this interview, I’m late to this one. She asked about the energy vortex and in her conversation about it, she mentions Tulum has its own energy vortex as well. Which I’d heard but it wasn’t the energy vortex that pulls me to the country of Mexico it is indeed an energy vortex in Merida Mexico or that Yucatán state due to Chichén Itzá proximity to Merida and all lands of the Yucatán. That Merida/Yucatan energy vortex is the one i feel that pull she describes. Kudos to her for forging out so early in her life time

I feel that the take away is that Rayna is very careful with the money she earns. She isn’t extravagant by any means. She doesn’t waste money. There are people who make over $100,000 and live pay check to pay check. Rayna is disciplined and determined. At a young age she pushed aside the desire to be a reckless consumer. I also don’t think anyone has to share specifically how they earn a living. It’s okay to maintain some privacy.

I visited Chitchen Itza last year with my daughter and there is a vortex at the pyramid site. I took my shoes off and stood on the point. Later that night I had an incident where I woke up in a sweat and reflecting on my life. Luckily the subjects that came up as a result had to with extending grace to myself. I agree that the Yucatan has an energy all of its own. I still feel that when I go places here in the US that certain groups of people look at me as if they are surprised to see me there, but when I was in Valladollid and Playa del Carmen people treated me well and my tone did not require a double take.

Tulum...for me...every personal hang-up feels magnified in the US. Rediclous daily questions such as "should I wear this" or "am I impressive enough" seem to take way too much of most people's minds. US society reminds me of it everyday and in every way. I have to fight to remain grounded and authentic. In Tulum it all falls away, almost instantly and naturally. It's just brings me back to the essentials of being human.

I got mad at the driving here when i first got here lol. The stuff they do is completely different from the US. If you get mad in the US, the driving here will drive you insane lol. But it got better once i learned to adapt to their ways. My wife and i were talking today about how you can honk your car horn at every car and no one is gonna flick you off and they aint gonna curse you out. But as the @belltowndaisy suggested, bring the family down for a visit. Thatll get the ball rolling much faster. Let them see the possibilities.
