Seattle has recently seen a lot of crazy high speed winds coming in from the coast knocking down trees and powerlines - one major result of these strong winds are giant waves on the coast of the state. I had never experienced huge waves like this before, so I decided to do a little storm chasing and head towards the coast to see for myself in person how these giant waves look.
Like any coastal states, there is always a chance for Tsunamis to hit coastal cities. Seattle is further into the peninsula, but a strong enough storm or Tsunamic could easily rush in and wash up everything! On this trip I ventured out to Ocean Shores - one of the premiere coastal vacation towns of the Pacific Northwest and especially Washington state to see if things are as wild as what I've been seeing on the news.
I figured with quarantine still under effect, I might as well take advantage of experience all the different facets of mother nature I had never done before - including storm chasing!
Hope you guys enjoyed the video!

Many people who come to Ocean shores miss the best part. We have Duck Lake, many many miles of man-made canals, the bay with a view of Mount Rainier on a clear day, and the best beachcombing is Damon Point at the far south end of the peninsula. I used to live on the bay and there was an oyster farm right off my property. Sometimes they would be out there at night with lights (maybe harvesting), and because sound carries over the water I could hear them talking. You have to watch where you drive. Sometimes if the sand is wet it's almost like quicksand and you will get stuck. Then the tide comes in. Other times the sand might be very dry and you'll get stuck. I learned how to drive by driving on the beach but I am extremely careful. People have been killed doing donuts on the beach as it's easy to roll your car. It doesn't rain here as much as people think it does but if rain bothered us we wouldn't be living here. Most of us enjoy the winter storms. There is no better seafood in the world than fried razor clam diggers. The body or neck part is too tough to fry and that's the part they use for clam strips. Baby fawns are just now being born and yes they walk through downtown, come right up on your porch and eat your potted plants, and are generally pests.
