It's been such a crazy busy year for me that I haven't been able to go out and do much, so I decided to do a quick adhoc day trip to some Seattle Wineries for some wine tastings. Going to the vineyards and wineries in the Spring and Summer definitely has a different feel and ambience with the grape vines in full bloom, but Fall and Winter has a unique charm also!
Woodinville Washington is an area just 20 miles outside of Downtown Seattle that has over the years become Seattle's Wine Country. All the major Washington Wineries have their tasting rooms out there and combined with all the smaller wineries, you could spend all weekend out there and still not get through all the tastings!
With just the day to spend out there, I was only able to go to the larger wineries like Chateau St. Michelle, Columbia Winery and Maryhill Winery. I had a difficult time getting a table as most places required reservations, and on Saturdays they're generally booked up - though Maryhill did have walk-ins and I was able to do wine tasting there. Chateau St. Michelle also allowed you to order food and wine and self seat so I stayed there for brunch before going to a tasting at Maryhill to end the day!
Tag along to see what the experience of wine tasting around Seattle is like during the 2020 holiday season, and how Covid affects the experience!
