LLVlog #5: Mail Truck Maintenance! O2 sensor and Turn Signals

In this episode I fight an O2 sensor, properly fix my turn signals, and a few other minor fixes. This one was an experiment in just filming nonstop from beginning to end and cutting it down to what was relevant and interesting. In the end I cut down over an hour of footage to make this episode watchable 👍

Use a propane torch to heat up the old o2 sensor. It will help get it out a little easier.

Those rear shocks are a pain in the back side. You don't have to remove that metal ring on the steering wheel. Most pullers have long enough bolts to accommodate it. There are a lot of damaged horn contacts under the rubber horn button that will also make the horn not work.

I would've used a little WD-40 on the O2 sensor. Those are not fun if they decide to snap off

Hey, I snagged a brand new door handle assembly, two dashboards, and some other small stuff from an LLV in a junkyard here in PA. I think the mirrors are still at the yard as well. They crushed it legitimately less than a week after it was put in the yard. If you need anything let me know.

Shame, I would have loved to pick up some minor bits from it. Even just a few photos how certain things are supposed to be. Oh well, sad to hear that it got crushed already. Probably worth a pretty penny in scrap given how much aluminum is in them.

The first that comes to mind is how the heater valve is supposed to originally be mounted. Another is what hardware was used to mount the spare tire jack to the passenger side of the bulkhead and where did they store the iron that goes with it. I have the jack and iron, but am lacking the hardware that held it conveniently in place. I also am missing the e-track mount for the spare tire, but there are a lot of aftermarket ones available to pick from

That would be awesome! I know USPS typically just removes them from the vehicle as they don't expect or want their carriers to even attempt to change a flat tire out on them. So far I've not been able to find any pics or documentation that even shows it mounted up where it goes
