Yep, a little sag is inevitable, and with so little space between the gate and the posts, there will eventually be rub. A wheel supporting the gate near its end would also help things work longer.

I live where it snows so I put the pins both facing up. That way if there is 3 feet of snow and there's an emergency I can lift the gate and set it aside and get out without having to have a heart attack movi g all that snow. Let's face it. A gate isn't keeping anyone out who wants in.

A lot of people don't know this but your posts will never be 'level'. The vertical is called 'plumb', the horizontal is called 'level'. Mixing the concrete in a wheel barrow would increase the strength 10x and finishing the top with a trowel would seal it from moisture penetration. It looks really nice though and the lights are terrific. The green paint is a good idea too.

As far as putting those hinge pins in a piece of pipe will work like a charm. I'm thinking 1/2 inch but you'll have to figure that one out for yourself. The top one goes in from the top so folks can't just life the gate off of the pins and make it worthless. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.

Something I did to my gate install that helps a lot with sag. Buy an extra hinge pin bolt and install it so the open tube of the gate on the away end can rest on the hinge pin when closed. With the gate closed mark the bottom of the gate tube on the post. The drill the hole below and adjacent to the mark. Screw in the hinge bolt with the pin facing up. Now when you close the gate set the gate on the pin and the whole gate is supported on both ends.

Gate looks good. The posts you have look to be rough cut so they will be 6x6. The smooth finish posts are 5.75x5.75. I would also recommend on the sides of the gate put some fencing along the front of the property. Adding a man gate would be an option. The fencing would help keep people from walking around the gate as well. As others have mentioned many times a wheel on the bottom of the gate will help but you may have to move some glavel to keep it from lifting the gate up too much. Good work.

The post you have are special actual size 6x6 vs nominal 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. You could also use your circular saw set depth to 1/2 and cut top of post around all sides 1/2 from top then use your reciprocating saw to cut 1/2 from sides top down to your other saw cut so as the light will sit on it flush. Finish with a wheel on end of gate good looking addition

If you do one again you can use the hole in the end of the crescent wrench to install the hinge pins. And the reason for putting the top one upside down is people could simply just lift your gate off the pins and use your chain on the opposite side as the hinge.

One bag at a time then add water, use a broomstick to remove all the air pockets. Also try a little grease on the shank threads.

Your gate looks nice. We have the solar lights on our deck posts and we love them. They are not as bright as the other lights but they are awesome.
