In a linear culture where everything around you is comprised of straight lines and angles, it is only natural we drifted in this direction in our movement and physical culture.
I like the efficiency of linear work, but without organic movement, it loses its meaning. This is what we train FOR.
Locomotion is one organic and very important tool in my arsenal. I've been using it for many years as part of my training and my students training. I suggest you do the same.

@rxp56 what are you blabbing on about? I asked him a genuine question that's nothing to do with you lol, and you're in here trying to justify your own actions and talk about the meaning of life....welllll, since you asked, addictions are not pleasures mate, and yes it's fine to have them we are only human, but don't act as if it's a choice and fool yourself dude, there is no pleasure in them all they do is cover up your suffering, so by all means go ahead and enjoy your pleasures that you're "allowed to enjoy"

Getting out of a standard, socially acceptable workout is often helpful. Movements like this are almost never done in a gym. Since working out at home, out of doors, I have incorporated non-standard movements and 'equipment' into my exercise time. Oddly, I have become stronger and fitter quicker and without injury. I'm 56, have always been in shape aesthetically...movement type exercises have increased strength and balance and enhanced my physical symmetry in a natural way, with natural bulk and leanness.

I'm 58. Got back in the gym a couple years ago. Lost 30 pounds and I'm gradually losing the last 20 with a goal weight of 185. Strength has gone up considerably, BUT I'm tired of being tight and sore, and continually stretching to work it back out. Started training at home home the past month and a half with dynamic stretching, body weight excercises etc. I can't believe how much looser and more flexible I feel. I'm truly hooked.

@@JB4375 Hey...I'm 58 now (for the last 12 days) and still at it. If you haven't got them get some good resistance bands. Lots of good videos on them. Take a little getting used to and experimenting but they are easy on the joints and allow unlimited angles at resistance.

@@JB4375 I screwed some eye hooks into trees in our yard so I can run them through at different heights. I use zinc plated safety spring snap links, attached to the eye hook and clipped onto the resistance band. Make sure that you use ones that can handle adequate weight for the force you're using.
