Not so sure. Brother worked with a trucking firm; not unusual to keep driving diesels without checking oil and sieze them up. Trash interiors,the list just on and on,sounds fake,yet drivers take no steps so employment is constant.

Everyone is an armchair qb. Obviously, some of the drivers can navigate the entrance driveway. Others can't. As long as the logs are strapped down they are legal to haul. VDOT guy wanted to wear his big boy britches and be important, when as a civil servant he should have been totally agreeable to getting the trailer off of the road, and not threatening to get the State Police Motor Carrier Enforcement to do an Inspection while trailer was unhooked and blocking the road. You used pro recovery equipment to solve the problem, it wasn't cheap but was safely managed.👍👍

Maybe consider reshaping the road when it goes out onto the sealed road so the trucks and trailers are kept more level?? Anyway, great video and great result for all concerned !
@job38four107 ай бұрын
Ok that turn on to that road has made 2> two >TWO strikes in a short period of time!!!!!! 3 strikes and your OUT. Therefore I think I would fix that turn so it's big and wide enough for big trucks and trailers to swing in and out with ease, big enough so you have room for error. Going in and out empty is totally different then a loaded truck, with a strike 3 someone could go to eternity, and for an unsaved person, that will be BAD............
@AmateurLogger7 ай бұрын
It would be pretty easy to throw a crane mat in the ditch and then put a truck mat on top of it for the trailer to drive over. I think they are doing all this stuff on purpose to get views what's the likelihood of a truck getting stuck and broken in every episode?
@Backwoodsloggers7 ай бұрын
Actually that’s not correct. We are not doing this for views. The Ditch bank is to steep to throw a crane mat in or else we would have done it. Entrance is 71’ wide. With our vdot entry way permit we are only allowed to do so much for access. We were denied being able to put logs in the ditch until this incident happened. Once this one happened vdot allowed us to put logs in the ditch. Otherwise we would not be able to.

Hey mate, I admire you for starting out in the logging business but you need to dig that dip out put in a concrete pipe and pack it up with gravel or this is going to be an ongoing headache for you. Your driveway seems higher than the road and that dip don't help matters. Done logging in New Zealand and some of the things I've seen here in regards to safety are to say the least. If not using chains them straps need to be wider and never seen straps anchored to the truck frame like that should have strap hooks welded to the strongest points. Every twist and kink in your straps weakens its load strength. I hope things get better enjoy watching your journey.
