Education is same as in our country subsidized in all forms of tax collected. It is very incorrectly represented by many that health and education is free in UK but people forget to mention about NI and local council tax which is very considerably high which is used for this facilities

I have been living in UK for 14 years now. For heavens sake , healthcare is not free . Assuming you have a salary of £25k p.a ( most highly skilled migrants from India have this ) , NI is calculated at 12% before it drops down to 2% when salary reaches £50k. If you assumed your salary increases by 4% CAGR it’ll take 17.5 years for you to reach £50k from £25k. @12% over those 17.5 yrs , you would’ve paid close £81k in NI contributions , averaging to £4.5k/ year . How on earth is this free ? Bear in mind there’s also a huge nhs surcharge you pay when you do your visas . It’s taxing the young to pay for the old. Classic socialism . You just don’t pay anything over the counter , and it makes it look like it’s free .

Not sure what's the use of both person working in abroad. They are already living away from family. And on top of that, kids are sent to some foreigners. Everyone thinks of becoming top 1% of rich person by both working. But reality is, all families are now working and purchasing power become just normal. In India , real estate sky rocketed. 10l few years back just got equal to 1 Cr just because of all this craze. People still in middle class. Kids and family happiness gets sacrificed by chasing some wild dreams.

For people ( perhaps like me, senior citizens) who want to visit London for a holiday or to visit friends, what could be fairly affordable accommodation and at what range of prices. I realise that INDIAN YMCA Student hostel ( which you covered in one of your posts) is one such avenue. They have also recently increased their prices! Can you suggest any decent and less pricy accommodation for an elderly couple. Thanks
