“I just blew it” got me emotional for some reason, I’ve never had a post fight interview hit me in the gut before but I just felt for my man so hard. It was such a close fight.

I think he probably won it. Done more damage than Pantoja. Damage is the leading criteria in the scoring system. I think the judges didn't notice how hurt Pantoja was on a few occasions

I don’t know what Dom is up to, but if he looks good in his next fight, I actually would still love for him to fight Aldo in a double retirement fight. I only want 3 round co-mains for him, or someone pillow fisted if it’s a 5 round.

I'd have to watch it back but did Erceg do more damage in round 5 even with the bad brain thinking? If so he should probably get that round. The "sweeps and top control" that you say gives Pantoja R5 should not score unless they also lead to damage. But I get that they often do, even if scoring criteria say it shouldn't.

@@ryancameron9187It's adolescent and facile tallying. Nonetheless, I think he was right that Erceg deserved to win. I gave it 4-1 Erceg, but I could see 3-2 Pantoja being within the reasonable range.

I think people believing Erceg deserved to win has a lot to do with the commentary, they were ooing and awing at anything Erceg landed the whole fight whilst ignoring the heck out of Pantoja's offense, especially his bodywork, his repeated knees and punches to the body were rarely ever even mentioned.
