I never knew you could put soft link and short link from the d-ring. Thought that would make it 1 point.

While connecting from casultys d ring to yourself, shouldn’t the 3 joined carabiners go to your descenders carabiner?
@independentropes49224 жыл бұрын
You can do it that way but it's more efficient and there's less grinding of karabiners if you go D ring to D ring.

@@independentropes4922 ...would you be cross-loading your waist D by connecting it D to D, being as they are not designed to be pulled in 2 directions (Casualty weight pulling down and your connection being pulled up?
@independentropes49224 жыл бұрын
@@deanmccann1 Petzl are happy for them to be pulled in two directions although it is weaker this way. Pull tests show the Petzl D ring failing at 26kN when loaded ideally and 15kN when loaded across the D.

Great Video! Is there a specific type of desender you use? it looks like it has a bigger handle than the ones I have.

Hi, we have a few different options for descenders in the training centre. The one in the video is the Petzl Rig, there is a newer version out now but they are very similar sizes. Thanks for your comment.

Super random and love your videos but what helmet is that?!
@independentropes49222 жыл бұрын
Hi, it's a Kask Super Plasma although I now have a Petzl Strato (the yellow one in the videos) which is similar to the Kask but has the added advantage of changing the load required to rip the chin strap.

Is there a reason why most rope access people are using screw gate carabiners? Would auto locking not be faster? That's all I use, steel, or aluminum auto lock, Jim. Thank you for all your excellent videos, I have watched them all at least twice. Will there be any new ones coming up?
@independentropes49222 жыл бұрын
We have a load of twist lock, triple action karabiners available to use here but most trainees are used to screw gates at work so prefer them. I'm sure cost comes in to it when rope access companies are choosing the karabiners and it's what they are used to. I'd happily have them all twist lock personally. We don't have and immediate plans for more videos, finding the time to do them is the issue.

Очень долго, дружище. Твой пациент уже умер. Обрезав верёвку на "кроле" ты бы подготовил его к спуску за 1,5 минуты , а не за 6 минут. Тренеруйся ещё.

It's a training video meant to TRAIN. Not an immediate rescue video where somebodies life is on the line. Smarten up ya fkn nonce.

connect short link to D RING rescuer not a good option. should be connect to descender carabiner.
@allycoull46146 ай бұрын
What makes you think it's bad? Both ways work okay.
@iduydaratista6 ай бұрын
Load from casualty pulling rescuer is not comfortable and when the casualty is already on the floor we can't disconnect directly due to still connected with carabinner ID and shortlink
