Love this game! Total War before Total War existed.

I’m 50 years old and boy does this bring back some memories!!!

I still have a box on the shelf with this game on 3.5 inch floppy discs, loved this game, played it so many times.

Loved this game. Bring it back today! Turn based strategy with AOE2 style battles.

This game had some great stuff in it. Some of the graphics and the population and economic model are actually more immersive than what we get in new total war games.

The music in this game still bangs.

This game probably has the best representation of the chevauchee that I've seen in any strategy game.

oh wow i havent thought about this game in years this was one of my formative games for the love of strategy absolutely loved it sadly the 2 sequels completely fell short

I had this game when it came out. I even see it on Steam every so often a a silly discounted price. A value way to spend a few hours. Thanks for the nostalgia fix.

Aw man, this game began my love affair with siege warfare

I've played this game so much back then. Damn great times! When sieging, use catapults to breach the walls, towers to draw enemy fire while rams go for the gates. Once breached, rush in with maceman mostly, they're fast. Keep your archers outside the walls for as long as possible. You can use one or 2 maceman to draw fire from boiling pots too. Sorry, couldn't help but remember all that shit when I saw the vid! lmao Oh, and worth noting, no need to kill all the garrison to conquer a castle, just capture the flag, get one of your units to touch the flag and it's done.

I can't remember whether it was LOTR1 or 2 that used to utter the immortal line "Exit to DOS, my Lord?" in the main menu. Many happy memories of this game, played it to death. Remember being so exited for the graphics upgrade in 2. Could graphics be any better?

Love this game and music. I always focus on stone at the beginning of the game to build asap castle with moat. Stone Castle was obvious first choice, and produce a lot of bows.

It’s very important to play with advanced farming on. It’s essentially a patch that the expansion added that makes wheat slightly less OP

Never heard of this one, so I don't fall into the enjoying it only because of nostalgia camp, but I do enjoy Impressions Games.

Rising Lords(early access still) is a good replacement for Lords of Realm 2.

I wish Steam would get Defender Of The Crown, the first one, loved that game allot.

How did you get this in widescreen? I have black bars on both sides and can't see how to adjust it.

I prefer Lords of the Realm 1 to LotR2 In LotR2 battles and sieges compared to LotR1 sucks. Designing castles in 1 was awesome. Only thing that I like in LofR2 were merchants who were visibly traveling instead of guessing where they will go next.

I loved this game. Very low system requirements that even potato could play it. Too bad I can't play it anymore when i switched to windows 10. I remember when i would march a 1500 people army into enemy lands, eating their food until their people starved and rioted. Or when i would burn their resources instead of actually fighting their much larger army.

there's a revival of this game in the form of 'Rising Lords' om steam... it's not 100% the same, and I do miss some mechanics from LOTR, but it's the closest any modern game has come

I was better than you when I was 15 when this game came out (won the first LOTR2 online tournament) but its still awesome to see you fumble over it and enjoy it :) I was going to give some tips but lol - too many.
