technically I agree & disagree that this episode peaked cause it's my favorite episode of the series (This is my favorite show) however seasons 5 & 4 are my favorite seasons

yeah i remember when it first aired i yelled at the tv “WAIT THEY KNEW EACH OTHER BEFORE?! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!” my head hurt so much. it was probably the first time i had a true mind-blowing experience watching something.

As someone that has watched this show 16x the payoff for 3 great seasons are the 3 best seasons. My rank 5,6,4,3,2,1. 3 has the most great episodes by volume but also the most throw-aways as well. This stretch between The Man from Tallahassee thru S4E7 ..do not want to name it.... but its a great run.

@@neighborbruce as someone who has not seen past this episode, that is the one thing I had actually heard about the show before I started watching. And I'm glad it seems like that's not the case cause watching it this whole time thinking it was, I couldn't help but think that is a terrible ending and I just wasn't going to watch it.

I doubt rick knows the difference in phone models covering a 2 year gap in the mid 2000s, but at the time at least, that woulda been a neat lil clue to catch... Ahh i like this more than the idea that he just forgot/misspoke due to drugs(due to the writers wanting us to again, think its set before the crash). Yea, that also makes the other docs subtle reaction line up abit better. Nice catch.

there is another scene that really couldn't happen. I work in pharmacy so technically that whole scene where he has a refill is unrealistic. that drug is what we call a C II drug meaning you can't get refills on it and a Doctor has to write a new script every time and it can't be a family member or friend who writes the script

@@rxtsec1 how would you know if a friend wrote the script. I understand family members might heffer the same surname.

@@WiseDelilah you can''t have refills on that script and you can't call it in over the phone. yes someone close to you can write the script but they can't give you refills. each time they have to write a brand new script. some doctors who want to give refills might write a couple of scripts in advance for the patient to bring on there next refill but that's bad practice because doctor's want to usually moniter and make sure the patient is taking it correctly. if they want a new script to early that shows there abusing the drug. also if a script is too soon we as a pharmacy have the right to refuse to fill it and usually we won't return the script. additionally we might talk to the doctor to see why they want them to have it early and if the drug is expensive the insurance company will refuse to pay. and yes a member can write a script but that's very unusual cause it looks bad

@@WiseDelilah also a friend or family member writing a script isn't considered bad if the drug is being used correctly. though unusual there were times where the doctor was clearly honest and wasn't doing anything shady even if it was a friend or family member. most doctors unless for emergency reasons tell there friends and family to see another doctor and sometimes they would give recommendations on a well respected doctor they know

Honest question... Why do you like it? I'm not trying to hate on it, if you have the time I would really like an explanation. I want to like it but I just can't find a reason to. Watching this episode for the first time today, and there is only one part I liked. When Sawyer killed tom, it felt like he finally did one thing right. I hate his character, but for once I thought what he did made sense. To me Charlie's death just seemed so pointless, he was one of my favorite characters and I'm just annoyed at how he died. It felt cheap. I'm kinda curious why they have to go back because I want it to make sense. And right now it doesn't feel like a good scene its just confusing and seems out of character for Jack to want to go back. From the moment he was on a plane it seemed pretty clear it was a flash forward so maybe that made the scene weaker for me. I've heard so many good things about this show from so many people for years, but this season is the worst season of a show I have seen in recent memory, and I'm hoping there is something that can change my mind.

@@DarkElfPaladin the first thing you are doing wrong is trying to like it because a lot of people like it. You don't like it? Nothing wrong with that, it's your taste, your opinion and that's fine. Why do I like it? Because it grabbed me like nothing before in my life. It's the first show I followed "live", finding ways to stay up to date living in a country where episodes came with a year-long delay. I love the characters, and when you say Jack behaves "out of character" I see someone who has been through a lot and is finally understanding that chnage is necessary, that he has to grow up.

Maybe you have heard so much about the show now, but back in 07, the flash forward twist got most of us shocked. Charlie's death is not pointless, not only plot-wise, but it also deals with the themes of fate and destiny that the show superbly juggled through its run.

He's either too drunk and high that he doesn't know what he's saying, or the other way of looking at it is because he says "get my father down here", he isn't referring to down here from upstairs but down here from heaven

Ok I'll settle this. He's being a smartass. He's saying his dad was such a drunk that, even while dead, he's still more drunk than Jack. He's basically saying "dig up his body and get him down here and he'll be more drunk than me."

Sawyer has a habit of scapegoating people for his pain. And this always leads him to commit murder in the name of vengeance. It's an ugly habit that most "LOST" fans tend to ignore.

How, after all of this time, do you not know the reason he's keeping them on the island? He believes it's their destiny to be on the island and that they crashed here for a reason. He blatantly says it in the season 1 finale.
