Well, technically the plane split in 3. There are as of this moment, 3 island factions, Jacks group, Johns group and the others, with a 4th group of new hostiles on the boat. And of course, 4 is death.

Crazy thing: The guy at the end is an Jeremy Davies. I've never seen him in anything else except LOST. And still, after all these years, I recognized him immediately as Baldur in God of War. The way he does his lines is amazing.

He’s also in Saving Private Ryan and Twister. Those are the only other two I think I’ve seen him in. But whenever he does pop up in something, he’s always great. Really underrated actor.

Yes!! Love everything said, especially all the Hurley stuffs. I've seen this season SO MANY TIMES but NEVER thought of it as a Reverse Baptism! ( 25:24 to roughly 27:06 ) What an analogy! Only a couple episodes until the DESMOND one🙌, can't wait for that reaction, and the Kevin and Ben the finale- you know what, all the episodes are going to be so exciting!!

FARADAY!!! i'd forgotten that he pops up at the very end of the premiere here. damn, season 4 was one of the best season of tv ever. because of the writer's guild strike that year, they really had to tighten up the scripts to make everything coherent, and they did such a fantastic job. i'm really going to enjoy this string of reactions.

I loved a lot about Fringe, but I found it a bit too difficult too often to suspend my disbelief with various "science" stuff, especially when episodes were resolved by them guessing science solutions and doing fetch quests. Lost has some weird stuff, but everything basically has 2 or 3 core causes (course correction, electromagnetism, timeline stability - these are basically all the same thing).

Really surprised that you didn't talk about what was written on Charlie's hand when he touched the glass in the interrogation room in Hurley's hallucination in this episode. On his hand was written "they need you", which of course is different from what he had written on his hand in the season 3 finale.

Matthew Abaddon (Lance Reddick) is always fantastic. This series was the first time I remember seeing him in anything, but he’s been in so much. He was great in The Wire, Fringe and Bosch as well.

This ep (S4 Ep1) is called "The Beginning of the End", which is the exact same title for S4 Ep1 of Ozark which just released yesterday. Weird.

Had a similar weird thing happen years ago when I was watching Lost and Stargate SG-1 and within just a couple of days saw an episode from each show titled Tabula Rasa.

1:05 i don't think jack thinks his dad is alive. when he said "you get my dad down here" in the hospital, he meant down from the afterlife/heaven. it's a misdirection.
