#LOST Season 3, episode 1 - "A Tale of Two Cities"
-- SPOILERS for the rest of the show! --
Where is the shower area in "A Tale of Two Cities"? Where is the aquarium? What's the deal with Karl? I'll explore that, through new fan maps, now that we've arrived at the season 3 premiere, which introduces us to Hydra Island.

There's no island like the Island from the hit TV show "Lost" (2004-2010), with its bizarre occurences, multiple treks and exciting locations. I've I decided to do something I've always wanted to do. Analyze every journey taken by the characters on the show. Episode by episode. Trying to connect the dots between all those impossible maps, confusing treks and mysterious locations.

So glad you're back! Loved the visual jokes including baby Karl and young Tom (can you believe Blake Bashoff is over 40 years old??). 5:30 is pretty much what I always thought had happened, but to see it pictured like that is something else. A question I had because of the mysterious locked door... Have you tried referencing 'Via Domus' for this map or any of the others? I remember exploring the Hydra Station was one of the things I was really excited about when playing the game, but I can't recall if it ever showed what was on the other side of that door.

Thank you very much. I sometimes think about the actor's age, but then I remember I was a teen when the show was on and now I am 31, so I just rather not think about it haha :P I tried looking at The Hydra on Via Domus, but they do some liberties conflicting with the show a bit, so that was a bit tricky. I will reveal what is inside the mysterious room in an upcoming episode in the Hydra arc, but it's a very boring answer, so I am not gonna market it in any way. But it's still open for interpretation and it's not wrong if it leads to a long hallway with even more corridors or something like that.

@@Choekaas Gotcha! Yeah, probably best to not expect anything life-changing. I am disappointed to hear the videogame took some liberties. I always liked to think they had their hands on the official layouts for the sets/locations. Walking around the Dharma stations was about the only great thing about the game.

I don't know if this will make sense, but whenever I rewatch the show, "Live Together, Die Alone" and "A Tale of Two Cities" don't feel connected. Like I can feel the summer hiatus between them. But for the first time, watching these breakdowns, for some reason it flows much more together. Probably cause of your knack for filling in any empty parts of the story/timeline!

Love it! My question - do you have a picture of the whole island with the Hydra Island with all of the places you've demarcated so far? I'm trying to remember where Hydra island is compared to the main island. It'd be cool to see as a record of what we've covered so far. Obviously keep your main one to yourself as that's your source for all your video content... but if you had one which we can look at which is updated in connection to your latest videos that'd be awesome. I find myself trying to visualise it all within the bigger map as you're going and it'd be cool to have that alongside your videos to keep track of it all. Great work as always!

Thanks. That's a good point. I have some surprises left, but maybe I should try to have it in the video description. Like, one that is updated every time we get to new places. I've added a lin in the description. I hope the image is good enough. I had to downscale my original one, because it was too large.

Working on the hydra right now, I've come to the conclusion that although you pointed out the rectangular building as the Hydra, im 100% sure that it is actually the plus-shaped building. Also, do you still have a copy of that pdf of the reopening plans?

Awesome! Yes, I agree, that the facility is the plus-shaped building. And in real life what's behind the plus shaped building is a giant bridge that goes to the public road. You can see it more clearly on Google Maps, although you can't see this building that clearly since it's obsctructed by jungle and the place is closed down. but I have a link to one of the PDFs. The walkways were trickier and I used a few Hawaiian blog videos to figure that out. Should be here, page 10: files.hawaii.gov/dbedt/erp/EA_EIS_Archive/1995-05-23-OA-FEA-Paradise-Park-Bldg.pdf

@@Choekaas thank you very much! one more question, the Room 23/Season 6 Generator room Building seems to have a walkway connecting to the main building, does this walkway span the several miles of jungle that you have distanced the 2 buildings or is it closer?

@@userNULL Ah, I think you're maybe mixing the two places. The season 6 generator room is in the main plus-shaped. The room 23 building is fairly empty and we only see it twice. In season 3 when they retrieve Karl and in season 6 when Jin is put there. When Jin exits room 23, we see that it's pretty empty and with chairs and a few tables. Then Zoe and Jin leave this building and go to the main facility where Desmond is placed, and we never return to room 23. I think that they're simply just retrieving things like the map and stuff from there. Widmore's team set up their equipment at the main facility. It's easy to be confused since we briefly see a brown rusted generator in season 3, but it's not the same enormous machine that Widmore's team operates in the main building.

@@Choekaas I think youtube deleted my several paragraph long comment because it had links 😭 tl/dr i looked at the season 3 and season 6 screencaps and it definitely is the same building, the generator is the same and the outside scenes from both seasons are shot at the Haiku Omega Station

@@userNULL Oh no! :( But that's weird. I've added a link, why wasn't mine removed? Is it because I'm the uploader? That's interesting. The generators aren't the same though, but that is okay, it's a big building. But I think you're completely correct, the Omega Station has that distinct staircase and flat wall. What weirded me out was that there was a walkway and these things are only at Paradise Park, which is why I placed it at the main facility when I did this season 3 map, but this just means that the crew made a small walkway mockup at Omega station. Very interesting. I don't think they made the walkway all the way from the main facility. I think that would look weird to make, right? It could be a walkway that stretches alongside one part of that building.
