Bank holiday, So busy most places, so I ventured to a quiet lough which is miles out of the way,
I tried my bike for a change, hard with the rucksack on my back, but it was an eye opening experience, I may even look into it further.
It was solid rain through the night and for the ride out, but an enjoyable camp was had non the less.

Amazing camp Adrian, stunning location, wow, 💯 agree on the tarp and bivvy ,and meths burners are my go too, silent, efficient, cheap fuel and love watching the flame, and as you say, no need to rush ,when your out in nature, soaking in the atmosphere, fresh air, totally chilled out, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig

Hi and thanks for watching, it truly is a tranquil spot, so far out and hard to get to, magic, a place to chill and gather your thoughts, so happy with the hooped bivy, best thing ever, I may look at a zip on the army one, but it would loose some waterproofness ? Not the end of the world as I use a tarp Cheers Adrian
@paganoutdoors3193
@paganoutdoors3193 Ай бұрын
@northumberlandmountainhopper do a degree on the zip, so much easier to get jn and out of though, and as you say, paired with a tarp ,I've had no issues, trouble is ,it gets hard choosing which setup to use then lol..
@northumberlandmountainhopper
@northumberlandmountainhopper Ай бұрын
Yes agree with the tarp, as for choosing, Windy or wet Hooped every time; Milder nights Army with or without zip, Guaranteed dry summer one nighters the Alpkit bivy Cheers

Just finished making a backpacking bike myself, made the front rack from M8 studding and Euro clamps as all the parts are so cheap for three metres. Around £3 to£4. Come to the conclusion that the public just walk past you if you camp with a bike and ignore you. . Picked up my British Army Bivi this week , cannot wait to try it out on the South Downs.
@northumberlandmountainhopper
@northumberlandmountainhopper Ай бұрын

@@northumberlandmountainhopper quick tip. Don’t wear a back pack on ur back while cycling as the combined weight hurts your bum bones with the increased pressure, put the heavy bag on a rack and ride lighter.

Thanks again for sharing Adrian,I have to say,your channel is at the top of my favourites. Like your set ups and locations. Total silence apart from nature,simply brilliant. How do you find the hooped bivvy compared to the one you used to use and does it have a mosquito net on the zip? Cheers

Hi and thanks for watching and enjoying the videos, it’s a tranquil place as not many people would make the trek, The Dutch hooped army bivy is probably by a long way my favourite as I have yet to have and damp or condensation, must be the fact you can vent it while still being draught free, just a bit heavy at 1.6 kg Cheers

Lovely peaceful camp, Adrian. You were lucky there were no midges or people for that matter. I'm desperate to get back out myself, but I've had pneumonia for the last 2 weeks, and everything's come to a halt. My boys also got pneumonia and he's been in hospital for 5 days. He's out now though thank goodness.
