We bought our Series III last November, 4th one to come into Washington State. We bought it for the ride which is awesome. Had to use the Off Road feature when the mortar range at Ft Lewis was activated and they closed the road out of the Skeet Range. Exited via the perimeter road which was pretty rough. Raised the suspension, dropped it into 4X4 and surprised the hell out of the road guard when I emerged out of the trees along the fence. As for the Parking Brake, you can go into settings and select Automatic Set whenever you put it in Park and it comes off when you put it in drive. It’s one of the few newer 4X4’s you can use as a Towed vehicle also. Has a 10k lbs towing capacity. As for the HUD, I’m 5’8” and 155lbs and 66yo so the seat fits me perfectly which means I don’t have to slouch to be comfortable. The heated steering wheel feels good on my hard worked hands as I drive down the road “looking like I just got my license and driving to my mom’s”, but hey, I don’t give a fu*# how I look, that’s the advantage of old age and success I guess. My Jeep Rubicon (that I traded in on the Wagoneer) days are behind me so now it’s all about comfort. All the amenities were pretty straight forward even for a Boomer like me. Nice review, I enjoyed it.

@@DirtRoadTherapy One more thing. I programmed the suspension to lower when I shut the car off. This was to help my mom who is 86 years old to get in and out of the car easily when I go and take her out to lunch once a month. Plus it’s easier in the front seat edges when getting in and out of the car.

@@DirtRoadTherapy It’s really annoying !!! I’m an airline pilot that frequently leaves at 3am and the horn honking three times sometimes without even me opening the passenger door coming in on the driver side door. Im very confused on the purpose of it. I’ve actually went to the dealer and complained about it and did all online searches and everybody feels the same way nothing like having my neighbors be woken up by my stupid JEEP at 3 AM in my hoity-toity golf course community. But other than that I do love my grand Cherokee L except it could be a little bit bigger and hence the reason will be looking to a Wagoneer probably not next year but the year after.

@@fgrau7376 That "feature" definitely needs a dealer flash to fix! I sort of know the feeling, my 2005 Ram 2500 will honk if you open the door with it not in park. Being an older gal, sometimes she's physically in Park, but the section indicator isn't registering park. So I'll hop out and BEEEEEEP! I've pulled up to road side stands and had to apologize to the worker before because, what jack hole pulls up and blasts the horn as he's hopping out? LOL not this guy--at least not on purpose. Unintentional horning is the worst.

I bought a Wagoneer series II a week ago. I am actually scared after seeing all negative feedbacks all over the place.. This review give me some relief lol. I hope my car can perform ok. There's always some risk as an early adopter of a first generation, and I think there were a lot of haters primed for this one, especially given the price point. So the negative reviews are scathing and the positive reviews are drown out. It always takes a multitude of positive to outweigh any negative. I'm sure you'll get many good years out of the vehicle and will enjoy the ownership experience.

I wish they would offer a more base line Wagoneer I looked a rather stripped model at my local dealer but it still was incredibly loaded. If they offered such a vehicle it would make a great utility vehicle being large and a jeep. I’m old-school I like leather interior and a V-8 after that I don’t need much else. Multiple touch screens and all the nonsense that goes along with it I don’t really care for. Give me a solid reliable V-8 SUV and I’ll be very happy.

@aaronkelley3865 4 ай бұрын
@@petegalindez9961 Wrong. My Silverado has an electronic ignition but still uses a traditional key. It also has remote start. The only difference between my truck and other vehicles with push-to-start is: on one, you push a button with your finger to make the starter crank; and on the other, you stick a key in a hole and turn to make the starter crank. But they’re both electronically triggered. There’s really no good practical reason to have push-to-start over the traditional way. It just creates new problems where there were none before. People just think it’s cool so they keep doing it. The only other argument one might raise is that you just keep your key in your pocket or purse at all times and that’s the main benefit. However, in real world use, there always ends up being some reason that forces you to take your key out from time to time anyway.
